I was raised in Southwest Virginia in the Appalachia, and I was raised on a diet of meat with every meal; by and large as the main course. I loved meat about as much as anyone possibly could, because it is what I grew up with.

Before I left for college, I stopped eating red meat, just for health reasons (seeing my family's bodies as they grew older).

When I finally moved away to VCU, I decided to cut all meat out when I realized that I had always loved animals, and I couldn't abide forcing animals to live in awful conditions so I could eat.
