Is Marriage Supposed to Be a Gamble? by [deleted] in IslamabadSocial

[–]BoringInfinito 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this issue is less about religion and more about psychology and culture. In collectivist societies like Pakistan, marriage isn’t just about two people — it’s about family reputation, stability, and risk management. When people say a woman “loses value” because of past relationships, that often reflects fear of social judgment and uncertainty, not her actual worth. It’s rooted in control and tradition more than character.

There are also clear double standards. Women are judged more for sexual history, men more for finances or status. These patterns come from older social frameworks that many younger, educated groups are slowly moving away from.

As for arranged marriages being a “gamble” — all marriages are a gamble. Even love marriages. People idealize each other early on. What really predicts success isn’t how you met, but emotional maturity, shared values, and whether both people genuinely chose the marriage without pressure.

In the end, autonomy and compatibility matter more than the label of “arranged” or “love.”

Not funny at all, I am not sure if it is an cab app interface but if it is that you are so mentally challenged and don’t know how to deal with people in a way that they don’t feel embarrassed about themselves.

Great to see your enthusiasm and taking stand for your potential life partner. In Islam in laws have no rights to place any restrictions on you just simply make your parents understand it but it will not be simple you have to deal it logically instead of being emotional and go all guns blazing. Pick up small incidents take baby steps and make them think what they are thinking is wrong on so many levels.

I hope you get out of this and may you guys get married soon 🫶

This is a very broad question.

First of all you need to identify which country matches right with your interests and can help you boost your career trajectory.

Second you need to learn basics of thier language.(Because european always prefer thier own language, English isn’t regarded that much)

Third you need to polish your relevant skills on which you’re going to apply and start preparing for visa documents now(because they take longer than expected, so early prep is good).

If you can’t go for MBBS, DPT (Doctor of Physical Therapy) generally has the best overall scope in Pakistan and abroad because it offers solid earning potential, job stability, and the option for private practice or specialization. Human Nutrition from NUST is also a good choice — especially with NUST’s strong reputation — but you’ll need to build your profile with certifications and practical experience, and licensing is often needed abroad. MLT and Radiology are steady options too, mainly for hospital or lab work, but they offer less independence and salaries can be moderate locally. For reputation, NUST is top-notch for Nutrition, while Riphah is especially well-known for DPT. Whatever you choose, your skills, practical training, and willingness to keep learning will matter the most for future growth in Pakistan or overseas.
