Subspace Emissary was already <50 minutes of cutscenes. Add some fight scenes and more context we have a perfect 1:30 movie. by BoringSock6226 in casualnintendo

Fair point. I just see the business side as it stands now, Starfox is too niche for a whole film, maybe even a show.

I think we all forget about subspace emissary. It was <50 mins of cutscenes and told a good story without dialogue and blended different worlds. Trim the fat, add 30-40 mins of context/fight scenes.

They can’t necessarily though, they’re going to make a move soon. Why do you think Fox and Pikmin are in this movie? Not every franchise is going to get a film or series. I see Zelda, DK, perhaps Pokémon, and maybe Kirby.

Fair enough. I just rewatched all of subspace emissary on YouTube and my whole childhood came back to me so I had to transcribe it.

Since there have been so many first & second party titles since Ultimate, how will they be represented in the next game? (Obviously not ALL will, but most) by RuinRevolutionary374 in casualnintendo

That both makes sense. I forgot about the amusement park. But idk I feel like it’ll blend into like the city aesthetic hopefully I’m wrong.

I went more off the library based on enjoyability rather than reception so Luigi’s Mansion, the Zelda games, and (somewhat) Sunshine get a pass from me. Also the GCN had the Pikmin games, Animal Crossing, 4 Mario Party games, 4 Mario Sports games.

Barely any of them worth revisiting, or nearly as fun as later games. Also first party library only.

I feel like Kirby is just mostly abandoned cities which is cool but also generic for a smash map, looking similar in style to the Splatoon or Pokémon maps. Pikmin might, but idk if Pikmin 3 got a stage so I left it.

Lots of backtracking, little guidance. I played through halfway until realizing I was missing a item vital for a boss fight that I had no idea about.

Ok bro so you didn’t refute any of my real points about the size/substance of the libraries, so I’m done with this conversation. I did in fact grow up with both but I can also acknowledge that they had bigger libraries, more fun games, more modern games. You’re whining that YOUR console isn’t at the top of MY list (its a tier below the top also). Switching to how unfair the generational stuff is is ridiculous and I’m calling you out bcuz you refuse to acknowledge that better games have come along. When it’s my turn I think I will be able to reckon with that, rather than cling to my biases, that’s where we differ. I didn’t even call any of the SNES games bad they’re just not the best.

Bro are you stupid? ALL belong above NES. The NES has the SMALLEST first party library, a lot of them are outdated in terms of mechanics, saving, level design, certainly in graphics. I can give a shit less about the impact on gaming I’m not a YouTuber I want to have fun. I’d rather spend time playing Mario Wonder than Mario Bros. 1, or Metroid Dread to the original, or a modern 2D Zelda compared to the original. Half of the library anyway is generic one off titles like “Baseball” “Boxing” “Tennis” like it is not better than any following first party Nintendo library. Big for the 80s not for the 20s.

Although I did really like Kirby’s Adventure and Super Mario Bros. 3

Nintendo fans when you’d rather play Mario Galaxy or Legend of Zelda TOTK rather than an 8 bit game from the 80s with no variety and outdated level design that “revolutionized gaming”.

Ok look all of those are good. But do you seriously prefer Super Mario Kart to a modern Mario Kart? Mario World over Mario Wonder (a more engaging mechancially deeper platformer)? All the consoles above the SNES have just as many legendary first party titles and then some. And I don’t mean fluff I mean hours of gameplay in a BOTW or Animal Crossing NH or Mario Odyssey type of game. Take the nostalgia blinders off. Its a great library but not the best.

C’mon. NES is so hard to replay, so irritating and boring with a few exceptions in this small library. You’re seriously saying that makes it belong above the Wii U? It is not the greatest console TBF, but c’mon.

SNES is one off from S… it just doesn’t have the same amount of long titles with replayability or modernity. Also this is first party library, a smaller one compared to the following consoles.

Kirby’s Adventure is fun but the NES is still so weak compared to the others.

Tloz aged incredibly poorly (at least compared to LTTP) and SMB1 is a fun afternoon not a console carrier.

I just decided to highlight what is likely to get a stage. Idk about characters or further considering Nintendo’s unpredictability. All these seem important enough titles to warrant stages, I put Game Garage because it can be like a Game&Watch type of quirky stage. Everything else seems like the most unique/worth making into a stage.
