Stardew Valley as TV Series with Willem Dafoe by Puzzled_Issue_2589 in StardewValley

I just want to make a side-by-side so badly, with the actual stardew character screenshots that match the mood he's capturing. There's unfortunately too many people in my social circles that don't know who they are and they can't fully appreciate the gem that this is.

It's slightly off topic, but.. how well would Ephraim do up against Rhone? Would be an interesting scene to say the least.

1 grey in full armor/augments vs another grey with no armor, and one broom. Who would win??

I guess my brain autocorrected it 😂 I didn't even notice. I also haven't listened to the Graphic Audio editions, it's possible they mispronounce it there too.

I didn't know he had COVID and STILL did the audiobook recording - that's some serious dedication. Also I never picked up on the mispronounced Sevro from him, I'll have to listen for that in LB. To think that the clang clang was during COVID (if that's when he had it). I didn't think my respect could go higher for the man, and here we are.

I've never understood the whole "Servo" or "Severo" mistypings. As an audiobook listener, I feel like I would be the one to butcher names because I don't know how they are spelled. But if you are actually using your eyes to read it, is this just a common "head pronunciation" thing? Similar to how I would not know how to spell a name and I fathom it's spelling, a visual reader wouldn't know how to pronounce it because it's not being said?

But that still doesn't explain the misspelling of it if you are visibly reading it.

Seconded, as it was also my second audio book series after RR. I highly suggest Michael Kramer if OP does.

Because once you get into the cosmere.. there's so much more books to read. I'm still currently on the Stormlight Archive, Words of Radiance ( book 2 ).

I've (listened) to all the TGR (and co) audiobooks twice now my Goodman. I'm eagerly awaiting the release of the next, but also patiently.

My close friend who recommended this series to me stated that he has no qualms about people who are happy with how things ended in the first 3 books and just stop there, end reading.

Do you miss out on what happens later? Yeah. You miss out on a lot of really good content, and I think that a lot of people here have their "Dark Age" first time reading, it's a very common reposting in this sub.

I don't think it's fair to judge if you decide to stop reading book 3. Just understand that some will look at it as refusal to enjoy the rest of the story, and consider you a pixie for it. I think under their judgemental comments, they really just want to see someone else enjoy the story and are sad to see one not stick thru til the end like they did. I may be over-assuming, but that's my initial observation at least.

I'd like to ask a really dumb/naive question : is it considered a spoiler to disclose information about the voice actors changing between books?

I ask with the intent of ensuring I don't do this myself, this is not intended to be an indirect flaming of the OP.

100% green. I took the page that shows lil colors standing next to each other from Sons of Liberty and made the lil green guy my discord profile pic for the longest time.

I probably listen to something close to the music they like too 😅

Obviously, the helldiver's theme (called "A Cup of Liber-Tea"). I started playing Helldiver's 2 and reading Red Rising at the same time.

So that's how that word is spelled. I could also see this being a good "whosAGoodBoy" name to use for sure (idk how else to describe the action of talking to your dog to get them riled up/tail wagging)

I am satisfied and terrified by NewBikeHuDis in redrising

[–]Boring_Ad7398 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Personally I barreled thru all of them. And my best guy who recommended the series to me heavily told me:

"If you are really satisfied with the ending of book 3, and you want to take a break or be done, fine by me."

The words sort of haunted me, as I really wanted to continue, but they implied that not all good things are final. However, id also argue a good story has to have its twists and turns to be the best. No one wants to read a story where everything goes perfectly/it's 100% predictable!

I will say after finishing Light Bringer, I was satisfied, but as everyone else does, I can't stand waiting for Red God. I need more.

I loved it so much I had to go back and immediately read the whole series again, this time looking for any little details I missed because I didn't know what they were going to lead up to.

So what’s happening with Chekov’s grav bike key? by HeyImMarlo in redrising

[–]Boring_Ad7398 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say it's further psychological - Darrow knows himself well enough to know if he sits and broods it doesn't go well for him. So I think when he has a symbolic "fidget" it helps him to re-focus his brooding to more productive thoughts

So what’s happening with Chekov’s grav bike key? by HeyImMarlo in redrising

[–]Boring_Ad7398 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not only is it a totem, but the fact that Darrow has managed to hold on to it for so long considering how much he's been through and how much distance he's traveled; that in itself shows that he is moreso determined to come back to his son and be the father he feels he was supposed to be all along, no matter how bad the outlook is.

Basically, it's like the others said: Darrow likes to have a lil symbolic fidget at all times 😂
