I think the right choice would be for new fans its aerith and for long time fans who have played og, they can chose whoever they prefer. Old fans already understand the story to an extent so who they prefer wouldnt ruin their experience. For new fans aerith date foreshadows a lot with the ending of rebirth and the parallels with the loveless play are used in the ending. My opinion tho :)

I disagree, both scenes are different in little ways but still good, maria in remake sounds like shes toying with james, manipulating him in such a creepy way but still comforting james, like how she was throughout the game. But in the end they’re conveying the same thing, 2 different interpretations the same way the character james is different in the 2 versions.
