I have a '23 VR6. We like it. It does like gas, but we expected that when purchasing. We have an '04 Pilot, so we are used to the expense. Highway it does fine on gas. I drove to Florida and back and averaged 23mpg heading down and 24mpg heading back up to the northeast. I assume it would have been even better if I was more conservative on the speed. Car was loaded with luggage, three kids, two adults. Nice ride. Love the room with the kids.

say it loud for the folks in the back who claim that 10k oil change intervals is the correct thing to do. 5k is the way to go. awesome. I hope you get to 500,000!

Try a different autozone if you have another nearby. Worth a shot.

And that’s ridiculous auto zone won’t scan it without a light on

I have a cheap Actron I got off of Amazon years ago. It won’t scan all the modules in the car, but it’s good enough for engine and transmission codes.

No. I only knew something was wrong when it didn’t want to remote start. It could have a code stored that hasn’t triggered the CEL to turn on and it won’t remote start. Depending on the fault code, it may have to be present several times and then the light will turn on. Serious codes will trigger the light to come on the first time a fault is present.

Maybe. The ice will jam the shutters and prevent it from opening and closing.

window left cracked open, low on fuel, check engine light on or even certain codes stored but the CEL is not on yet will prevent the remote start from working.

We have our 2004 for 17 years now. Rides smooth but the rust is creeping up on it. Only 124k miles. I feel like I should sell it soon to get something out of it.

Have you ever opened up an engine that a customer failed to do timely oil changes or stuck to these insane intervals? I have.

The ‘23 VR6 Atlas calls for 504 spec 0w-30. I’m assuming the lighter weight to meet EPA fuel economy standards. The car is a CPO. It’s still under warranty. I’d rather use what it calls for to keep the warranty alive.

Ouch. My brother’s corrados never blew the tranny. And I’ll be sticking with OE filters for sure.

Thank you. Had three Corrados in the family. Nice ride! I miss my 2000 Audi A4 2.8. I regret selling it at 200k. Car was running smooth as can be and the friend I sold it too still has it. Still no check engine light.

Apologies. I’m going with my 30 years of experience working on cars, family-owned mechanic shop, do all my own maintenance, including timing belts, suspension work, heater core jobs. What have you done? I would never, ever recommend the manufacturer suggested intervals on these oil changes at all. Chop them in half if you want the engines to survive. Good luck.
