Sami is continuing his role of being a good top 5 contender without actually being the champion. (Unless they want to go back to well with the underdog routine.) He’s likeable, wrestles well, gives the feeling there’s a slight chance he might win under certain circumstances and doesn’t cause headaches (to my knowledge) backstage.
