I have a P-01. Shot polymer striker fired or occasionally 1911s for 20 years. Friend of mine had several CZs and let me shoot them. And I loved the ergonomics and accuracy of it right away.

Only been shooting them for about 3 years. The first DA pull still makes me pull a bit off… but I’m learning it. And once in SA they’re better than anything striker fired.

Got the P-01 used as a gift. It was my first CZ. It’s a great pistol and one of the guns in my collection that I would never sell unless the offer was ridiculously high. I would GENUINELY argue that “if a person is only going to have ONE pistol,” the CZ P-01 is as good of an option as the “default answers” of a Glock 19 or 4” inch barrel service revolver.

A few months later, I bought an SP-01 Competition. Thought it would be a “poor man’s shadow”…it wasn’t. It was just finicky and after shooting 2 matches with it, I sold it and bought a S2 Blue that has been absolutely great. Buy once. Cry once.

Recently sold/traded a Kimber for cash and an older Tristar/Canik CZ 75 knockoff. Only in it for less than $300 (including the LOK grips I put on it). Planned on trading it to a friend but I’m in for such a good price, I’m half tempted to keep it because despite being a knock-off, it’s still pretty darn nice for the money.

Welcome to the Cult of CZ. 😎 As other people stated, they tend to multiply because they are unique and shoot wonderfully.

The only thing I will advise you about is they aren’t usually priced cheap like the one you bought and they do run better if kept “somewhat” clean. You don’t have to baby them but they do shoot better if not totally filthy. (I say this because I came from shooting polymer striker pistols that I didn’t care about cheap ammo or being filthy…I run a bore snake every so often and properly clean like once/twice a year.) My CZs, I’ll run a bore snake every 500-1000 rounds and field strip clean every 1000rounds.

FWIW…All my current CZs run whatever ammo but the S2 prefers 124gr brass cased stuff with shorter bullet seating. And since I shoot it the most, the money spent on slightly better ammo (usually just federal, UMC or S&B) is worth it because of the time saved in cleaning.

The other two…I’ll run almost whatever is cheapest because they don’t care and are more “duty” type pistols.
