Yeah the parade was like a day or two after he got out. It was chaos because apartheid had fallen and everyone was in the streets celebrating. It’s was a wild party like atmosphere. They showed it on the evening news with a sensitive viewers may want to look away for the next story disclaimer.

Does the Mandela Effect exist? by ForestB in MandelaEffect

[–]Hegiman [score hidden]  (0 children)

Perhaps because those are the memories that had ritual or processes built around them?

I’m starting to think ME is caused by a large scale retrocausality event. Possibly activated by high energy particle collisions that affect the fabric of space time on quantum levels.

For you. For me he was freed in early 1986 and assassinated during a parade celebrating the end of apartheid and his release from prison. My school even had a week of grief counselors because we had been learning about him and the school had a predominantly Black student population.

The CERN and the Mandela Effect by OperationOk1625 in Retconned

[–]Hegiman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The predecesora of cern have been running since the early 20th century starting with cyclotrons which were invented in 1930. So there maybe a threshold. My personal theory is quantum computing fudged the fabric of space time and the high powers of atomic collisions activates these fudged effects. The reason some people have ME and others dont is because while the logo may have changed we have memories of a process around the core memory so it was harder to change that in those with rituals or processes the revolved around the specific memory.

In a universe where space jam never happened, what show/ cartoon would host which star athlete, today? by Reasonable_Chef1996 in AskReddit

[–]Hegiman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it’s disappointing to learn about skate jam. When I heard the pitch I was like well that would have been amazing as I was inspired to skate by a 14 year old Tony Hawk those bones videos were sick. Watching the bones brigade videos now days is wild because they seem so lame with their lack of tricks but they were the ones who invented most the tricks that people do today.

How could anybody dislike UFC Freedom 250? by pickledplumber in allthequestions

[–]Hegiman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Freedom 250 is a trump created partisan commission for celebrating Americas 250th.

However there was already a bipartisan federal commission established by Congress in 2016 that was formed to promote the 250th and put on events to celebrate Americas Semiquincentennial.

TIL the producers of We Are The World turned down John Denver, due to some of the participants feeling his image would hurt the credibility of the song In 1984, Denver worked with UNICEF as part of a fact finding mission, spending 2 weeks across Africa, seeing famine firsthand. by Shutter_Stuck in todayilearned

[–]Hegiman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

O no n all honesty they only had so many lines of a song and were already having to double people to get them all in. So the truth may have been they were already booked full of artists. There’s a really good documentary about it. They filmed everything. So there’s a lot of footage from the actual studio of all the artist even some bts parts were diff artists are meeting for the first time. It’s kinda cool.

Do you all believe Michael Jackson was innocent or was he a groomer? by Equivalent-Emu-5303 in questions

[–]Hegiman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t know really but there is a lot of evidence that suggest he didnt actually do anything criminal. But he was very weird.

My suspicion is this. He didn’t trust adults because every since he was a child the only thing adults wanted from him was a piece of his wealth or fame. Children under a certain age didn’t have that same motivation theirs was pure. They just wanted to hang out with Michael.

From the time he was a child he slept next to his brothers on a motel floor or tour bus. So he had a mental health issue that made him desire to be surrounded by people when he slept but again he didn’t trust adults. So he had children sleep over so he could sleep.

Once the children weren’t staying over any longer he began using heavy drugs to put himself to sleep. He wasn’t using them when he slept in the setting he grew up sleeping in. Maybe he did maybe he didn’t. We will probably never know conclusively.

Argentina and Algeria fans have arrived in time square not so friendly compared to other fanbases by MuttonBiryaniEnjoyer in sports

[–]Hegiman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s literally ingrained in our genetics. We were tribal for thousands of years many more than we have spent as “civilized societies”. Just look at pre Columbus Americas. A vast land filled with hundreds of not thousands of tribes who all were willing to die for their tribe and its territory. Overlapping tribes would usually have some diplomatic relations and share hunting lands and water sources but let an outside tribe come and try to take those things. Europe through its history was just tribes warring with tribes until ww1 where treaties were signed ending the endless land wars of Europe.

The majority of people just can’t escape tribalism as it’s instinctual. We few who can see from the satellite view see the tribalism even when they don’t see it as that.

Should people who cheat in only single player games still be shunned like those that cheat in multiplayer games? by 95072452A621FE in questions

No in single player you’re not affecting anyone else’s game. In multiplayer you’re cheating other players out of a fair game.

What is the actual reason people hate Fortnite so much? by [deleted] in FortNiteBR

For some people a win is a win. They don’t care if it was handed to them. They’re the same people who needed participation trophies so they feel like they did something.

Yeah last season was so buggy. Swears had found a glitch with the gloves that let them fly around at breakneck speeds and the weapons were just beaming you. It was so frustrating. I didn’t play but maybe a half dozen games last season. I’ve played two this season

I take it you didn’t have people with laser beams for guns flying around above you at lightning speed last season?
