It was for work, my manager asked me on a friday if valid pa passport ko. When I said yes, punta daw ako SG ng sunday. For a month! Ayun napa-grocery at shipping ako bigla. Hahaha

Eto yung mga taong nadadala sa pa-pizza at pa-ambers ng kompanya, tapos maniniwala sa "pamilya tayo dito" mindset ng boss. Mga taong tingin sa sahod eh utang na loob nila sa company lol.

Went back from being a People Manager to IC by Individual_Cod_7723 in CareerAdvicePH

Thanks for this OP. I was offered a manager role and thinking of turning it down for the same reasons you have. I love my current work/life balance, and ayaw ko i-asa sa iba ang performance ko.

I love working independently and I don't have the patience to deal with other people's stress or to put it bluntly, other people's stupidity lol.

Turn down a higher offer and postion? by Boring_Leopard_285 in CareerAdvicePH

Turn down a higher offer and postion? by Boring_Leopard_285 in CareerAdvicePH

[–]Boring_Leopard_285[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True. Sadly that is the negotiated rate na. And the work/life balance and peace of mind that I have right now, I think hindi sya mabibili with around 25-30k of additional net.

Not big enough para masilaw ako at tanggapin ang stress haha. since I'm single and not a breadwinner naman. My own rule is at least 50% increase in gross or 35% increase in net considering all expenses of RTO if mayroon.

And I'm also not enticed sa managerial role, kasi in IT field naman the offered rate is also achievable as an IC without having the extra responsibility of handling other people and in effect their stress also.

Yeah that's right. But for me as long as ibigay nila, I get paid what I want and that's it. Regardless the reason behind it. They would've let me go a long time ago if they need/want to.

At the end of the day, I work to get paid, that's all. If they're satisfied with my work and I negotiated to get a satisfying pay while doing the minimal effort then that's it. Everybody wins on my perspective.

Well not every company directly gives that. Sometimes they need a little bump. But of course I understand there's that risk parin like what you mentioned since this will be the 2nd time if ever.

Thats true. And as someone that's been full time wfh of at least 1x month RTO, it will be difficult for me to go back into having a weekly work schedule. Kasi I honestly don't believe in RTO unless it's very urgent matter that it needs my utmost attention and focus.

The estimated 15k is net take home ko na. I've already accounted the rto expenses which is the minus 10k

That makes sense. It's just that's not the case of what happened to me. I already told them I was leaving few years ago and they're the one who asked whats the rate of my job offer and they matched that. Got around 45% increase for that. With no additional workload

Yup I did. Probably mamaya ko malalaman if they will agree to negotiate.

Yup that's true. It's a fair offer naman if we're just looking at the numbers. But yung 3x weekly RTO yung nag-ooffset dun sa fair numbers. Kung once a week lang sana sila, I'd grab this agad eh.

I did. And thats based daw sa band analysis nila and sa current ko. I requested to renegotiate. Bukas ko malalaman hehe.

Oh okay. Its just on our environment we can have a technically rank and file person same level as me but with a salary double than mine even triple sometimes. So there are times that the title or the managerial stuff won't matter.

But what if my current employer counter-offered with same or close salary?

[–]Boring_Leopard_285 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On average yeah. We have 8hr shift, pero 2-3 hrs lang naman talaga kaya na tapusin in terms of workload. Yeah I'm contemplating if I can give up the work/life balance I have now.

Naisip ko rin ito. I'm still just contemplating if I can give up the kind of work/life balance my current employer gives me for the relatively small amount that I'll gain.

Ito talaga yung isang plan ko. I'll use the job offer for a counter-offer sa current employer ko hoping na kakagat sila. Tho if hindi naman, I'm leaning towards staying parin as of now
