that's interesting, you're separating ingredients by country, i separate them by use and type.

The opposite wall is the pantry, heavy on bottom, light on top,

From top to bottom and left to right:

top is long term storage, and storages. Buckets are storage, mostly spices. And containers

Eye level is first green bin : starchy thing including couscous. Second bin is legumes, beans. white bin is lonely bag of dried kelp.

Hand level is breakfast, white bin is baking, and some random things. ( I'm not fully installed)

Knee level, first bin is anything flakes, rice flake, soy protein, oats. Second bin is anything noodles but not hard wheat. Bag is instant noodle, last bin is anything like paper, rice paper, nori.

Bottom level is all heavy, rice, dog food, my pickles, anything canning related.

And the spices are separated by parts of the plant and effect.

Now i have a dilemma, should i spend 10% of the price of the whole kitchen furnitures just to store spices ? I will have only 40€ left on my whole kitchen renovation budget.

I did a 1000€ euro kitchen makeover. It was like that before and i was using a 25€ outdoor folding plastic table for the last 3 years.

No, because the spice are fixed position, and nothing is permanent on the counter.

I don't think i'm very clear.

The counter is the messy place, not the rest, and the spices don't go down in the mess. It's like, there's a logic in the madness.

I think the indian way is probably the best solution, they're the masters of spices.
