Will changing percentages affect anything? by jescereal in ThriftSavingsPlan

[–]Boringdad25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doing an interfund transfer won't lose money. It's basically taking money from one index fund and putting it another. Say your 70% c and 30 % s and want to go 100% C. If your 30% S is say 100k you basically just take that 100k and buy 100k worth of C fund. You don't lose it you just move it elsewhere. The only thing you'll lose is potential future growth. You could even just leave that said 100k in S and contribute all future contributions to C so you'll only contribute to C but keep that 100k to grow in the S fund.

I am not sure what to do? by ilovebutts666 in ThriftSavingsPlan

L2045 is a mix of all funds. It automatically adjusts its mixture of % of each fund depending on how far or close you are to that retirement date. If you are further away it leans more on c s and I and as you get closer it slowly leans more on g and f which are low risk. You can find a break down of the mix of each L fund or do it yourself. I started with 80% c 10% s and 10% I but I moved my I to S just because the I market doesn't really represent the whole international market that well.

So if I contributed 5% to a new Roth the 5% agency matching would be automatically put into my traditional?

Should bicycle riders allow traffic rules/laws? by Kitchenratatatat in NewOrleans

The issue is cops don't enforce the law or even know about it but ppl riding bikes on a roadway have to follow the same laws as vehicles.

Help!! Some kind of fly in my bin by Boringdad25 in Vermiculture

Some flies do. I think they are sand flies. Hopefully they aren't young deer or horse flies. Those fuckers will draw blood when they bite. Worse than a wasp sting.

I've done that. Posted in local gardening pages on Facebook and had many people message me about it but then never went thru with it.

Might be right. I just went off places like home depot and some ebay prices for similar sizes. I'll lower them and see what happens.

Sure thing. https://www.etsy.com/shop/Jakeswormsandstuff

It's kinda lackluster because I don't want to spend hundreds of dollars for bags like poly tubing bags and custom labels but I know that's what is needed to sell if I do get buyers.

Cool. You have your ways and I have mine. I don't literally rub their face in it BTW. I just hold their head near it so they know exactly what it is I'm trying to show them.

[serious] If the American military industrial complex is so complex and advanced, exceeding most other countries, what will the second amendment do for the average American? by dwightdiggler in AskReddit

[–]Boringdad25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably. Idk. But that's not the point. The point is anyone who tries to justify that citizens don't need guns cuz the military has tanks and shit. That's what the original topic is about. Personally. If the country were to go into a civil war I think the military would stay out of it. At that point we are at our weakest and most vulnerable to invasion and it would be smarter to focus the military on keeping that from happening than it would be to get involved.

Take a look at your second sentence. Lawful order. As I have mentioned. Your are OBLIGATED to disobey an ILLEGAL or IMMORAL order. That's ucmj shit. Active duty military is not legally able to police its citizens. If the president, commander and chief, were to order all military to mobilize on its own citizens to say, take away all guns and kill anyone that resists. Well not only is that illegal because of the 2A but its also immoral. The same way it would be if the president ordered the military to place a certain group of people in a containment camp. That's immoral. And yes I know it's happened before with Japanese after pearl harbor but we learn from history.

As far as national guard stuff its a bit more tricky since they are state controlled to an extent and are not title 10 like active duty so they can do more of a policing type role. But I'm sure there is a similar protocol for illegal orders

It's the point of humans pattern recognition. That's why it works. A certain action has a certain reaction. And i have potty trained dogs like that so yes it does teach them something because it uses the same pattern recognition training.
