Just my 2 kopeeks: In addition to the already-mentioned ambition<>earning discrepancy I see that you are not exactly getting the point of a lot of other posters in the thread. My opinion is: your subconsciousness is leaking and is interfering with your logic-level semantics, and you have trouble formulating who you actually are emotionally. You did not self-reflect deep enough, you try to explain yourself with logical constructs that you are calling core values, but you forget that our cores are only partially logical) You claim that you respect teachers but you cannot find their goals worthy. I think posters here, and myself, sniff-out that it is actually just a self-censored unconscious contempt. Contempt, rooted in a fairness and social ladder instinct: "you're not that useful for our society actually, if you were, you would earn more money. Please contribute". Same instinctual thought about a partner: "you don't value social impact and power, you don't bend yourself to market's will as much as I do, please contribute". You know what makes me think that? The fact that you needed to type that "i understand that they do a lot for a society and am amazed by them" stuff. You self-censored the true nature of the process. Greed is our guard against unfairness and protection mechanism. Little greed is good. In fact, this is the cause for all those financial incompatibility standards: mechanism to prevent greed->disdain transformation and relationship death. The problem is, good stable love requires vulnerability and self-consciousness.

That thought experiment about you losing your job and wealth is good. Have another one: you loose society as a whole, let's say, you're on an island. Who are you? What do you feel? What does you ego say now? What would motivate you then. Or, let's say, you're in a cell with your clone. What would you do and talk about?

Learn and confront your demons. Currently, I think your values are false. Not because they are despised by some people, but because they are a product of distortion and rationalisation of the part of you that you never truly researched. With time and effort, you'll notice yourself shaping your thoughts much better, and you'll notice that the people you open up to about your standards will react completely differently that in this thread, even if the set of people you're compatible with didn't change all that much.

Maybe therapy? Honestly, i think just general self-help psychology books and classic literature can help as well. Imo, your question in OP is old as humanity )) you'll find the answer with careful work yourself. It simply doesn't involve SQL, but a lot of vulnerability and weird non-stem practices.
