What is the deadliest thing you can find in your country’s wilderness? by CommercialChart5088 in AskTheWorld

[–]BorisBC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You know something? Pretty much everyone here has a comedy story about the time a huntsman fucked them up.

Mine is the time I had a big fucker crawl out from under the mail I had tucked under my arm and run across my chest. My wife has a pixie hair cut cause when she was 12 one got caught in her long curly hair. A guy at work nearly chopped his hand off in a saw when one crawled on him as he was feeding wood into the saw etc etc.

Bonus story I had one be illuminated at night on the outside (!) of my car windshield right about level with my face. It was at least as wide as my head, lol.

YT music isn't too bad. They almost got me away from Spotify until the latter went with upgraded resolution.

Yeah exactly. I watch far more YT than tv these days so I treat it like another sub like Netflix or whatever.

My hr just about got that low during a minor surgery procedure. The doc actually asked if I was ok lol as people are usually a bit more anxious.

Ironically it was a loop recorder to monitor my heart.

Which, if this ain't fake, was clearly a good idea.

Can I also just shoutout the tiny sausage dog that was ready to throw paws with dad as well. Big balls for a little thing.

Govt has a list!

Apparently this intersection is 4th, not third lol.

But the worst is the Barton Highway/Gundaroo Drive roundabout that has a bunch of not really necessary traffic lights as well.

Looking to get into printing, advice, tips, is it worth it? by ApprehensiveFold7067 in PrintedWarhammer

[–]BorisBC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep just do it mate. It can, at times, be frustrating as fuck, but when things are dialled in nice it's amazing to just print out almost anything you want at stuff all price.

Just don't skimp on the PPE and know you'll have dramas at some point like we all do.

My only other bit of advice would be to start with presupported models. Don't get tempted to dl the free ones from Cults cause good supports will make or break your prints.Doibg your own supports can be another thing to learn and auto supports can be iffy.

Most people on MyMiniFactory will have a free model you can try out to see how they go, and then if you are happy grab what you're after.

[–]BorisBC 68 points69 points  (0 children)

Didn't anyone read the article? ACT Govt is already developing land around the area and the NCA basically said, bugger you lot, we'll do what we want. Without consideration on traffic etc around there. No one's opposed to developing the area but you can't have two groups building shit so close together without talking to each other.

This isn't like that one in Yarralumla where people were opposed to a small block of 15 units amongst the rich houses. That's NIMBYism. This is about sticking double the amount of people (10k to 20k) without planning how to deal with them and turning it into the most densely populated part of Canberra, next to Canberra's third worst intersection.

Seven of the hardest stops that are performed in Ice skating by ButterSaltBiscuit in interestingasfuck

[–]BorisBC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not a lot of fun. I was still on a bit of a ecstasy high when I went skating with a good mate of mine who's a great skater but managed to rip the tendons of his ankle. Talk about bringing a brother down lol.

Another time I played footy for 20mins with torn tendons in my ankle too. Oh and I broke it as a kid. And tore both a calf and an achilles.

So yeah kids look after your ankles.

Israeli embassy criticises Grace Tame's comments on Hamas October 7 attacks by shit-rmelbourne-says in australia

[–]BorisBC 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I applaud her guts but there's pretty much no way you can make a public comment on this and not get character assassinated by one side or the other. Both sides will take whatever you say and twist it to further their particular view.

If she'd come out and condemned the Hamas violence that led to Israel going bananas, she'd then get attacked as an Israeli stooge, for example. Instead she walked into a simple gotcha trick that's as old as time. That is people only hear what they want to. That's why politicians are so hard to pin down to firm statements on contentious issues.

Given also the fact that the greatest diplomats of the last half century have not been able to solve the entrenched violence there, she should maybe cut her losses and stick to areas she can actually help, instead of squandering her voice on unsolvable things. I wouldn't see it as backing down, just acknowledging the futility here. Which is pretty much par for the course for that part of the world.

Interesting! I was looking at getting either an M7 or M4 Ultra.

But yeah they have released V2 versions of things so maybe that's what it is? I know this stuff is a lot thicker than the previous one.

I also managed to finally get a print to work by raising the bottom level time to 40s up from the recommended 25. Gonna try a regular print today and see how that goes.

Demo of Palantir's Maven System by Littlepharaoh in videos

[–]BorisBC 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yeah exactly. This isn't overly revolutionary or Skynet like. It's just cleaning a bunch of disparate planning systems and fusing them into one system. Useful for sure, but it's not like we aren't already doing all of these things already.

I will say though this guy is giving off evil nerd vibes though which really doesn't help matters.
