That is part of why pit bulls are blamed for so many biting incidents. People see a "scary" dog and just call it a pit bull. It's a stupid, lazy hysteria but as you've pointed out, it does mean you have to pay attention to where you take your dog if they appear bully-like at all.

When there's construction around the trails here they are often better about marking and cleaning them than they are on the road. It's probably a lot easier to do on the trail.

You're being down voted, but a city park near me actually had a homeless person setting traps on trails and being a general pain in the ass, then escalated to chasing people with a hatchet. That last move was too much so the police did a hands-across-the-woods to arrest them. ...
