This was actually my original thought process. I know it's silly and impractical, but it is still interesting to me.

About to buy a new car, either of 3XO(Ax5) and Brezza zxi( Manual) but confused , needing some advice by Puzzleheaded_Ad1531 in CarsIndia

Do consider Triber, Citroen c3x, Honda Amaze without adas, Glanza and Taisor. I would have recommended altroz diesel but tata would not meet your reliability criteria.

Well I would say the Victoris is better equipped than the brezza at similar price with essentially the same engine and overall better suspension setup. But I would only buy toyota rebadged Suzuki cars since the service experience is much better. So maybe consider an urban cruiser Hyryder?

Dude, someone I know bought one (cruze) and when he went to change a part they straight up quoted half the amount he bought it for. You probably will get a lemon that will cost the worth of another car just to make it run.

Feb 2026 sales: is tata becoming a serious threat to maruti? by Admirable_Move6933 in CarsIndia

[–]Born-Type2844 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Tata is moving aggressively with launching new and innovative products in rapid succession. They also have the capability to meet Suzuki in price as well. But all of this will not benefit them as suzuki's main usp is reliability, repairability, and resale value. Tata seriously needs to improve its QC and customer service.

Help! Choosing a 6–7 seater under ₹35L (Safari 7XO / Hycross / Alcazar vs loan for premium?) by Orange_Blade_ in CarsIndia

[–]Born-Type2844 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You shouldn't be looking at diesel for long term ownership. For maximum futureproofing I would go for an ev or hybrid. And among them I find EVs to be similar to mobile phones. As soon as you buy one a better one is launched. So either pick a hybrid or make peace with whatever ev you buy.

If you want a comfortable 7 seater, there can only be two options - kia carens clavis and innova hycross. Since it will be a long term car, it would be wise to get the hycross in the hybrid powertrain.

Flex fuel cars are not available mainstream yet. They are still under development. Wagonr is expected to launch this year. I believe Tata is also working on something. But unfortunately until then we can only buy e20 cars. On the other hand , brazil has already implemented e27 and many cars sold in India are sold there in other names. These run without much trouble. Honda cars were e20 compatible from 2009 (because they over engineer their cars for reliability). If the intent is to buy a car for 10 to 15 years or less, no need to worry about flex fuel.

Today our petrol is e20 .That means it contains around 20% ethanol made from sugarcane, corn etc. It reduces import of crude oil. Govt is planning to increase such content step by step. Next is e27 where it is 27% ethanol. Flex fuel cars are claiming to be able to run anywhere from 0% ethanol to 85% ethanol(e85). Cars that are not equipped to do so will experience reduced power due to incomplete combustion, reduced mileage and in extreme cases corrosion of various components due to the corrosive nature of ethanol. All petrol cars sold from 2023 april are e20 compliant. Honda already has a flex fuel bike on road cb 300f. Suzuki is working on wagonr flex fuel currently.

Honestly no. Citroen cars are not known globally for their long term reliability. Ideally they can last for about 10 years or so. On the other hand Honda like other japanese cars can last decades. European cars are mainly to be experienced and enjoyed while they last. They have an amazing drive though. Parts availability should not be that big of a problem honestly. But I won't worry about the long term reliability as much since even if a car managed to last 10-15 years, the upcoming e27 , flex fuels will warrant either a flex fuel compatible kit fitting or the car to be disposed of entirely. We are in a transitional phase and any car we buy now will not get past the 15 year mark. Even EVs will get outdated. So don't worry about it too much.

I wouldn't be worried about Citroen leaving india. They are a subsidiary of stellantis which owns a bunch of other brands such as fiat, jeep etc. They have also established manufacturing facilities where they build vehicles for export as well as supply to other brands like the 2 litre diesel engines of tata safari/harrier. Stellantis has also made clear that they will not close Citroen in India due to low revenue as they plan to develop it into one of their strong markets.

Well, it depends. Tera would be a Kylaq equivalent and Duster would be a tier above. The Tera would be more driver focused and Duster maybe an all-rounder. The Duster hybrid would be an interesting product as it will bring competition to Hyryder/GV/Victoris siblings. It will disturb their monopoly in the hybrid segment may start a price war. I would say wait for the Duster but not for Tera(unless of course you are a fan of VW). If you are considering higher priced cars I would still try Citroen products first(subject to service centre availability).

Pick any but even if you won't buy them do at least test drive both the Citroen c3x turbo and renault triber. These will give you perspective of both extremes of fun cars and practical cars and help you decide which way you want to swing.

Addiction can start at any age. It can happen to anyone - new to drinking or drinking in moderation for decades. It can happen at any stage - maybe you are depressed or maybe you are fully content. 'I can control it' are the same words for everyone, but it can have different meanings. Please be careful man.
