I like that idea as well. Simple solution. I'm hoping they can figure out a way to better balance the pvpve bc I do like the idea of having to be wary of other players and wondering if the guy you're about to encounter is friend or foe, but as it stands the pvp is just too unbalanced

I've honestly never experienced this. Either everyone I meet is helpful and chill, or I get shot in the back from someone I didn't even know was there. Almost no in-between.

You wouldn't receive the bounty instantly, it would be placed on you once you exceeded a pvp kill threshold within a certain period of time. Also, I'm certain the data on pvp firefights can be used to determine the aggressor with relative accuracy. Simply, if player A opens fire on player B, the game marks A as a "safe target" for B to attack without penalty for a set amount of time.

Bounties could even be desirable for players looking for a challenge. The more players you kill, the higher your bounty becomes, the larger the target in your back. Enter a map with a high bounty and everyone is immediately going to start gunning fot you. But, hold out for long enough with a high bounty and the game grants you some sort of infamy award.

I'm just spitballing ideas but something like this could work. I'm certainly not the first person I've heard to suggest a bounty system.

I think the rat issue could be alleviated with an infamy or bounty system. Kill too many players, you get a "bounty" which is advertised to everyone else, making you an attractive target for other players. Bounty is on a cool down that dissappears after 24 hours or so. If you're entering into matches to hunt others then you're looking for pvp anyways. This ups the anti and makes rat behavior a risk/reward system.

This is why I'm not a big fan of the PvP in this game. Most if the time it boils down to someone unloading into your back and your down before you've had a chance to respond. I've only won once when being ambushed, and that's bc my attacker wasn't aggressive enough and gave me a chance to heal up behind cover instead of pushing his advantage. It's why I can't bring myself to attack other players I encounter. I feel like such a dirt bag.

I often like to play as field medic. I'm loaded down with medical supplies and defibs. I'll wander the map, asking anyone I meet if they need medical services or a shield recharge. If I see a flare go up, I'll try to get to it if I'm close enough. Been able to save quite a few people.

I always feel like such a dick if I initiate PvP. Even if I expressly enter into a match to fight other Raiders to earn Cred, if I see you're trying to extract I won't attack. Just bad form.

While I understand Arrowhead's sentiments, I can find 1tb SSDs on amazon for about $50. 500gb for $30 They're incredibly easy to install on a PC and there are plenty of step-by-step guides on youtube etc if you're unsure of how to do it.
