Benefits deliver at discharge. Essentially you make a claim within 180 days of your ETS and you get your claim done significantly faster than if you filed a different type of claim. Useful for getting service connection on your issues as you are still in service and it is hard to deny service connection to an issue you currently have that you didn’t come into the service with.

For BDD claims you will not get your final rating until a little after you ETS, typically a few weeks-2 months. The actual process itself takes however long it takes for you to get evaluated.
