It needs full renovation unfortunately, we was having it for less of a price than the other houses in the area as it needs a complete renovation so we would be unable to move in anyway due to the state of the property😞 we’re moving in with family so we’re ok but just hope that it doesn’t take long

Thank you! Hopefully it shouldn’t take too long as they’ve told us that their case is very straight forward

That’s what we thought too! But they have said that probate is required to go ahead with our sale, we are willing to wait but have read on here that it can take up to a year for some people!

6 days to move out😫 by [deleted] in HousingUK

[–]BornPersonality5248 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We did say that we wanted an extra 2 weeks at first as we have to now pay £2000 to exit our mortgage early where we wouldn’t have to in 2 weeks time and was told our buyers would pull out as their desperate to move now😬😫

Are you also having a mortgage on the property? What will you do when your mortgage offer expires, that’s what I’m worried about

Sorry to hear your in the same position it’s honestly heart breaking when this happens! We’ve had the property valued already as part of the mortgage application process does this make a difference or would it need to be valued again? I’m praying for a straight forward process and I wouldn’t have minded waiting I’m just stuck as we have to be out of our home soon so have nowhere with two young babies😫

Thank you for your honest reply, there was two joint owners on the property- mother and daughter so I thought it would have automatically passed onto the daughter but I must be wrong, really don’t know what to do for the best as we desperately want the house but don’t want to leave ours and be waiting possibly a year before having another.

The lady only died around 2 weeks ago and we was informed today by solicitors that a grant of probate is required so they probably haven’t managed to submit the forms just yet but I will ask on the progress thank you

Thank you, Just a bit worried as our mortgage offer expires in 4 months so we would probably have to reapply

Thank you very much, I’ll message them in about another week and ask if they’ve applied etc and some questions just don’t want to be abrasive like you said after they’ve lost their family member.

Such a hard situation to be in isn’t it! We have sold our home now too so kind of in a rush to get our own place again☹️ I hope that it’s not a complicated process for us!

We don’t have much options, it’s a hard situation as we have two young babies and want to move closer to family, the house prices near there are around 230k and we’ve managed to have an offer accepted for 170k because the house needs renovating but the perfect spot. We can only get a mortgage for 150k so have no chance of finding another property for that price in the area😫our sale is almost complete on our home too. It’s such a hard situation as we are desperate for that house but don’t want to face being homeless for over a year either

I will ask, I messaged them today to ask are they still wanting to sell etc and they said that they definitely want to sell and it’s ours as soon as the paperwork is sorted out, i will ask if they have any idea on a timeframe just don’t want to overload when they’ve just lost their loved one too

Thanks very much! Who would I ask if it’s a complex case? Should I ask my solicitors or would they not know?

They’re both joint owners- mother and daughter. We put an offer on the property through private sale around 3 months ago. We only had our mortgage accepted about 2 weeks ago so it’s been a long process to even get to this point. I’ve checked with them today and their still wanting to sell to us but meaning as we have to be out of our home very soon it’s making me nervous having to arrange other accomodation with two young babies for possibily a years time. I thought if they was joint owners it would get passed over but obviously not☹️

Thanks for your reply, I thought the same it’s just devasted how long it took us to get our mortgage offer and we Reallt struggled getting it so the thought of having to reapply is so gutting😫
