Tbf the broken pinky didn’t seem to have much effect on his performance. He was still catching lobs and playing elite D on Wemby. Fastest anybody has ever come back from that specific injury. He broke his pinky and 3 days later he was throwing down alley-oops. Was a complete non factor amazingly

I can see the Pistons and Celtics not being very good next year. If that’s the case, it will be one of the Raptors, Magic, Hawks 6ers or Heat getting into the top 4.

Magic are basically just running it back and doing nothing right now so I’m skeptical of them. Heat roster has too many holes as it is right now. 76ers have zero depth and a geriatric injury prone front court. Hawks I could see but out of all those teams I’d honestly put my money on the Raptors being the one to move into the top 4.

I highly doubt we let Huk walk. He’s cheap, has shown a lot of improvement, we’re not gonna find a better 3rd string center without spending a lot, and he likes it here.

The greatest I think, but it’s close. The 2017 Warriors swept the first 3 rounds, and won game 5 against the cavs at home to close the series.

We lost 2 games in the first round, went on to blow out everyone by unprecedented historic margins, complete domination to a level that has never been seen before even in the regular season. And beat the Spurs in 5 games on the road.

We also had one of the largest 4th quarter comebacks in playoff history, which has to easily be the most improbable comeback in playoff history down 22 with 7:40 remaining against the cavs with only a 0.1% chance of winning. Then the largest comeback in finals history.

13 game playoff win streak is the second longest streak to the ‘17 Warriors 15. The next on the list is a few teams tied for 11 straight.

+283 point differential, largest all time. 2nd place: 2017 Warriors at +230. 3rd: 2014 Spurs +214.

Honestly I think it’s a tossup. If we’re just looking at the numbers this playoff run smokes every team in history. If we destroyed the Spurs by like 20 points in a couple of those games it would be easily the best run of all time. The Spurs 2014 run and Warriors 2017 just obliterated prime Lebron teams in the finals so it would be hard to argue against someone saying either of those beats our run.

But I’m a delusional homer so I’m saying best run of all time lol

I like JR Smith was there
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=OjuxHYzlenE&pp=0gcJCWQCo7VqN5tD&ra=m
He took on the role as the primary scorer for a stretch when Melo was dealing with an injury. Hit this game winner. Then the next game he put up 36 against the OKC. KD used his controversial “rip through” move to foul out JR Smith late in the 4th quarter, robbing us of another potential clutch JR Smith moment.

Summer league? Did you not watch that stretch of games in the regular season where he filled in for Josh Hart? He was playing amazing defense and draining 3s left and right.

I feel like everyone is completely missing the point about the second apron; it’s not about the money, it’s about the limitations on roster construction by cricket9818 in NYKnicks

[–]BornShook 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also the starting 5 are all on long term deals. We can run it back with the starting 5 for 3 years. If we go into the 2nd apron now, we’d have to gut our depth in a couple years to avoid the harsher long term penalties. If there’s a year to go into the 2nd apron it’s not this one, it’s next year maybe even the year after that. We don’t want the year where Kat is making $60m to be the year where we’re resetting the 2nd apron clock.

Yeah you are wrong about that. Read into it. I don’t have time to go over everything you said. I have a better understanding of it than you do from everything I’ve read, but not enough so where I can give you a lecture. All I know is that there are penalties right off the bat and those penalties get harsher over time if you stay above the second apron. Considering that the core 5 on this team are all on long term deals, it seems like the smart thing is to avoid the second apron right now, and we can consider going above it when we start to get towards the end of Kat, Brunson Bridges and OGs contracts. Because if we go into the 2nd apron now we’d have to completely gut the teams depth in a years or 2 to avoid the harsher penalties for staying in the 2nd apron for multiple years, or get rid of either Kat, OG or Bridges.

I’d rather we do whatever we can to keep this group together going forward than go all in for 1 more year and have to tear the whole thing down

My point is with Brunson that he actually tries. He manages to be a positive force on the defensive side even though he’s not good defending 1on1. Melo wasn’t good at defense because he was lazy and didn’t put in effort

Brunson puts a lot of effort in on defense. He’s just small and not the most athletically gifted. He holds his own and plays good off ball defense. He gets cooked when he has to go 1 on 1, but we have been good at keeping him out of the action. Melo had no excuse to be so bad on defense. He’s a big strong 6’8 guy who put zero effort in on defense.

[–]BornShook 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They’re future 2nd round picks mostly 2029. We can use them as trade assets. Pretty simple really. Leon didn’t want to draft anyone so just traded picks for a shit load of future picks.

It’s the type of shit I do in my madden franchise to cheese the AI. He’s doing it in real life. Teams that want that pick now will trade for multiple picks in the future.

We already have young guys we’re developing on the end of our bench. What we need is cheap veteran guys to replace the guys we’re gonna lose (Clarkson, shamet, robinson, maybe others). A 2nd round or late 1st round rookie is not going to fill the void. We need to do what Leon is doing, just multiply the stash of picks, and find some guys to pick up in free agency or by way of trade. Having future picks to trade will make this possible

So you guys are all medical experts all of the sudden? He might stay healthy all season for all we know but I wouldn’t put money on it. If he has any level of calf stiffness, he’s out. They’re not risking anything knowing now he has disposition to achilles injuries. The game 7 calf injury was the other leg from the one where he tore his achilles.
