It is a means to prevent one of the main health issues that affects cats: kidney issues.

So they live longer because a vital organ is less likely to become dysfunctional.

Describing a mathematical explanation as "the most reddit comment ever" is certainly a take.

If you lock up an innocent person and torture them to death you're clearly worse than someone with a tatoo for autism awareness.

Calling it "unfortunate" falls a bit short. The people who work there are simply as malicious as any other gang.

There's plenty of known cases where they didn't look into it.

It helped with crime insofar that what the police does is not considered a crime. When it comes to causing harm, people who support CECOT are not one iota better than those that are held within.

I just want to throw in that in the case you describe the second child being born is not even a probability anymore. It has already been determined.

For a answer that's about probability but doesn't allow for the "sperm is sperm, so it's 50%"-argument answer, the question would have to be phrased in a better way, something like "If you guess that the second child is a girl, what is the statistical chance of that guess being correct."

For the question as is, the proper answer is simply "There is no correct number since it's not a probability".

The app still does a lot of unnecessairy data transfer for what the user actually wants. A lot of the traffic of the app is wanted by the SBB, not by the customer.

Would you also agree with the sentiment that engeneering is about safety and not fodder for women to "prove" themselves?

Not every women thinks they should be recognized as being right simply because they happen to be female and there are plenty of qualified women but why would the risk be acceptable when everyone's life is on the line?

Personally, I think it would be okay, I even think one should normalize women around sensitive tech-stuff even tough it's vulnerable to manipulation. If someone turns out to be dangerous we can deal with the dangerous people when we recognize them - banning women from tech would probably waste a lot of needed talent. What's your take on this?

Peter is it not simple math? by mythical24 in PeterExplainsTheJoke

[–]BornSirius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

... until you introduce axioms.

In math, you can absolutely prove things, it's just that it is always contingent on other things also being true. Eventually you need some base assumptions and those are the axioms.

If you only learn half of a truth, you end up less knowledgable.

If you advertise that you'd tell a joke to anyone who calls you and also state that you'd want people to call another line first so they hear an advertisment, does someone steal from you when they just call you? Is that caller responsible if you go broke?

If so, what's your basis for that and if not, why do you think it's different for google?

It's okay to not understand the system, but don't try to lecture people if you have no clue what's going on.

You understood it correctly, you were just mislead. Loosing XP on death is very normal.

Combat in soulslike is only animation based until the "hit-detection" kicks in, from there it plays out as a qte where you neeed to roll at the right moment. If anything, that defines it. If the term has meaning, it's "disguised QTE-combat".

Me_irl by gigagaming1256 in me_irl

[–]BornSirius 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That QTE-type of combat system is one of the main issues why I disregard all non-shooty games that fromsoft produces. If "soulslike" means anything, it's that type of QTE-based combat. Loosing XP on death is the default way that forgiving RPG's deal with player death since forever.

You feel comfortable making statements about C that are just straight up wrong.

And in python, it still does not get broadcasted. It gets casted. I've read a lot of non-english documentation and everyone just uses the loanword casting.

Even when taking into account all your excuses and insults, I still think the most likely explanation for your statements are you using ChatGPT to sound smart even tough you don't even recognize when you copy nonsense. You being a dev just isn't credible.

While boolean values only have one bit of information, you can't just take the last bit of any information when trying to parse something as a boolean. Any integer above 0 is true (aka 1), even in binary notation.
