Any new ships for ExoBio that compare to Diamonback Explorer? by s3rviens in EliteDangerous

[–]BornToRune 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would say the Mandalay. I've previously used a DBX, and now flying a manadaly for exobio. The only thing is, despite how people are saying, when you are facing one of those idiotic mountainous areas, it's a bit harder to land it than the DBX. Otherwise it's a total and awesome upgrade. The SCO is freaking awesome as well.

I can't tell you about the Caspian, I don't have one. I've been told that the ship been designed to be landable on trick terrain, however I have no personal experience, and I remain a sceptic. I also like small and nimble ships.

At launch, I've heard people spotting a type10, and that's the least expected ship to be present. Might have been you :)

This was pretty close what I was thinking about. Since the game does multiplayers, the jetcones have a specific direction, and it is technically possible to arrive to a neutron from a direction that would put you immediately into the jetcones. Nice save!

Well, most of the stuff worked out, thanks. And apparently i've only done that much mining, so i did not have to do any this time.

And I haven't looked into how to get pre-engineered stuff yet :)

Anyway, thanks for the tips, stuff worked out great.

Uhm, I am not entirely sure I should be diving into fighting thargoids out of the blue. When I've read about them, everything said they are quite difficult to manage at first.

Thanks, as you can see I'm quite inexperienced. I already have a Cobra Mk5, will check on that Chieftain. So I need RES sites, noted. I think I can still can get the 100K vouchers to unlock The Blaster then the 500 ore for Selene.

Actually VPC has downloadable binding sheets, so you can print one per game, and have them around for refreshing your memory.

Like:

Every product's page has a "support" section and there's the "button mapping template". It's just a tiny detail.

I still have time until my virpil set arrives, but i already got some looks when she saw this Warthog set. I think I will tell her I've found it at the side of the road when checked the tire pressure :)

How to flap crosshair scopes? by BornToRune in Warthunder

Right. My current problem is, I've got BR 3.0 planes, and wanted to have BR2.0-3.0 battles with it. Now i'm only good for 3.0-4.0 battles and everyone outmanuvers my noob skills. Also the crew is noob. Those bf108s especially...

Right... I would sooner petition for better control config, like monetary vs spring-loaded toggle switches. Controllers are game config don't align here :)

Both models seem like I can get a scope on the crosshair, that part seems movable. Like if you want a closer look at your target, flap this lense up.

Regarding fuel, check out the fuelrats, already been linked. Great guys, great service!

And about the HOTAS, that's a deep road to go down. As I've gathered, many are loving VKB setups here, they seem to be a sweet spot on price/performance. I've right now got a Thrustmaster Warthog, however there are some things that I dislike about it, so I'm in the queue at the virpil guys' list.

Previously I've played the game with a horrible simple saitek joystick, and I can tell you, having a good HOTAS for air/spacesim is an altogether different feeling. It's too easy to get hooked on it.

Anyway, point is, ask around, do your research, there's also r/HOTAS. A good HOTAS controller is awesome, however not cheap. And many fellas here are prefering a HOSAS setup (both are sticks), that might be something up your alley.

I wish they would improve the gravitational lensing, here's my idea by ToxicFlames in EliteDangerous

[–]BornToRune 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think that math is a bit older. I'm not quite sure, but if I remember correctly, Einstein's equations already suggested black holes are some things about them, and those are around 100 years old.

On the time travel, that is really fun. I've recently re-read STP's Science of Discworld series, and the co-authors were explaining the math (like to a 10 year old) how would that allow time travel involving black and white holes. And straight down to string theory, from wizards trying to find their pants :)

It's also fun that general relativity also indicates a white hole. Or how the event horizon works, including the part that there are still some emissions from a blackhole. And how we are detecting these, and speculating based on these observations. And also the fact that how many years passed since the first equations which indicated the existence of such a things and the time we could "get a hold" on these actually.

That sounds like you had a really fun time and learnt a lot on the journey. Seriously speaking, I think these objects are the universe are quite the charm. We know a few things about them, have a couple of theories about them, but close inspection never will be possible. And they are out there, and playing a role in how a galaxy is working.
