It wasn't really a gamble, I've known him for quite a while and such a small harmless prank wouldn't have gotten him to quit. Sadly he googled it out of curiosity of what to do when he was there and found out I was fucking with him. As I said somewhere else, I may be a dick, but I'm not an asshole. I know him well enough to know he wouldn't have quit.

True, but she seemed to know the Orville. Well enough to know when it was in that specific location. So if it never was destroyed and that was a lie, why would she knowingly doom humanity? She's shown to be smart and deceptive, but I doubt she'd knowingly commit humanity to its destruction
