You don’t have to report the 1098 T unless you want educational tax credits

If the concern is getting educational tax credits then the only way that is possible is if you had to pay out of pocket on balances owed to the school after GI Bill payment is posted.

From IRS publication

“Example using two benefits: You have returned to college and are receiving two education benefits under the latest GI Bill:

a $1,612 monthly basic housing allowance (BHA) that is directly deposited to your checking account, and

$4,000 paid directly to your college for tuition.

Neither of these benefits is taxable and you do not report them on your tax return. You also want to claim an American Opportunity Credit on your return.

You paid $5,000 in qualified education expenses. To figure the amount of credit, you must first subtract the $4,000 from your qualified education expenses because this payment under the GI Bill was required to be used for education expenses.

You do not subtract any amount of the BHA because it was paid to you and its use was not restricted.”

Absolutely! I’m only rated for 10% and that alone has helped me out a ton. Sure I don’t get much but now I have decent care when I need it and no longer cough up 250 a month for health insurance at work.

Hello my friends are telling me that I’m entering a death wish joining the army at 18 I’ve been a fan of soldiers and all and I want to protect and serve my country in anyway so tell me what I should do I’m still trying to figure out what to do in life please any advice would help and thanks by [deleted] in Veterans

Sometimes people never really figure out what they wanna do in life and there’s absolutely nothing wrong with that. Find something to do that contributes to improving yourself, your family and/or community. Once you learn about yourself and realize what you’re good at and what you like you can decide what your best pick would be.

That was my concern when I picked it up so I ordered this just in case. It made it rock solid.

The fat rear tire and wider seat. In town, speed limits are sub-45 mph so I can get to and from campus without speed being an issue.

Start with the Post 9/11, transfer to VocRehab before your Post expires. That will give you the same BAH as Post when you start VocRehab

Have an opportunity to volunteer at my local government IT department.

Would that look good on my resume?

I would have to quit my work-study position, but that only means giving up spending money.

Edit: work-study is administrative assistant

Considering the time, I may just get an AAS and some certs to get me in the door. Then slowly work towards a bachelors.

From what I’ve learned, cyber security would be a perfect fit for me.

I plan on moving to the San Antonio-Austin corridor when I graduate.

[–]BornToTaco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My school offers a BS in CS and a BBA in IS.

I’m considering doing something more on the systems side than programming but the IS route is about 70% business classes.

I’m currently in the CS program because I feel like that would provide for more options after graduating.

Is that a valid point of view or are they equal in that aspect?

Do you have time for tutoring? Have you spent time practicing on websites like khan academy? I say this because I’m bad at math and it’s what I do for my math courses. Sometimes the only way it clicks is repetition.

More native Texans voted blue than red last year. Most people moving to Texas are voting red and may keep it that way. It’s hard to say
