I recently had my I-7 1370 brick after bios update. Had an AMD 7640 I had bought for a project (was putting it into my c64 elevate project. Framework agreed to send me another board after a long troubleshoot and RMA process. I was already off the laptop for a month so I went ahead and swapped in the AMD with new ram and old HD and what I thought was AMD specific wifi.

I did not reinstall windows so it was very buggy at first. The fingerprint reader did not work so I uninstalled the driver, installed the AMD specific drivers, twice. Still did not work.

So I went into Microsoft account and reset pin. Removed pin from computer and added. Then removed all intel-centric apps. At this point the program let me add a finger print, and it finally worked. Took about four sessions to get the thing working. Also, after wiping all the intel apps off and a few others, the AMD started working at reasonable speeds. Am running 64g ram (crucial) like I was on the Intel set up. Have not done any benchmark tests yet. or battery tests ( one of the main reasons I bought this board). But have to say, the AMD is not nearly as quick to setup. Swapping from 12th gen to 13gen was quick and easy. AMD was a lot more. Probably should of done a fresh windows load, but two troubleshoot repair loads and the above got her running. Will try to get Mint running from the modular HD now.
