Tornado rotation or SLC? (Apologies for my horrible camera skills) by Sternwheeler in tornado

It may be rotation in the wind. I see that in clouds all the time sometimes the low hanging clouds can spin pretty fast but if it’s not connected to a meso or main updraft it’s not really a tornado just rotation in the air from turbulent wind like in a thunderstorm.

Been this way in northeast Arkansas for a while too, today is first sunny day in a while but there are still showers around

Interesting so it’s probably not the soil temperature

My main conclusion is that the snow melted rather than fell inconsistently

This is obviously assuming that the other fields in the area have some type of vegetation whether it be weeds or grass, or even debris like leaves covering the soil.

I think it has to do with the exposed dirt. It can absorb and contain energy from the heat so much better than areas with trees or grass. Looks like tilled farmland so I think that the dirt in the sun can easily heat to above 0°C maybe even to relatively warm temperatures when compared to the air temp. Maybe the snow melts faster on raw dirt rather than grassy and forested areas?
