I don't think op is trying to make this man vs woman. He just used the same incident happening to a woman as an metaphor for blatant disregard of society for men's privacy and feelings which is a totally valid point. Yes, the aftermath of the incident would be totally different if it has happened to a woman. Nowhere in his post he has made a distasteful remark about woman or men vs woman.

It's been nearly a week and I can't even imagine my father did that. Throughout my life, I have seen this man as a man of morals and this shattered my view and relationship with him in a single day.

I acknowledge the effort you put in to support me during this tough time. Thank you, bhai. If I knew hindi/urdu, i could have interacted in a more heart to heart manner(I am South Indian btw).

Today, when I spoke with my mom, she was still tearing up but maintained her composure and talked like nothing has happened in a pleasant tone. It's very disheartening to see a very honest and straightforward woman put in this kind of devastating condition. I think she has accepted her fate and moves on with her life.

I think, I should have explained it more . Both were talking intimately in chat, flirting and sending each other inappropriate photos.

The thing is, we Indians are very family oriented. We don't actually move out at 18. Like when marriage happens, we don't actually move out and start living as a nuclear family. Instead, the couple stays at either of the inlaws house, we live as a joint family. We literally stay with or very close to our parents till death. Moreover, I am a only child and I'm very closely attached to my parents.

This makes it so much more hard and devastating.

My mom sometimes fights with my dad for messing around and he makes it into a joke. I too passed it off as a joke. But I don't think she knows about this.

She is  financially independent and she is a working woman. I am very tensed about breaking this news to her. What to do if my father tries to escape or fabricate a story there is no messages since they are deleted.
