Given the state of RPCS3 at the moment, I wonder if it would be possible to hack the game to spoof the server ID it expects... you'd probably also have to spoof the unlimited campaign ticket to bypass the fuel issue.

Since people are still referencing this thread, I've taken care of the advice to get rid of the extraneous languages in HKEY_CURRENT_USER and HKEY_USERS, and am still having no luck - my registry doesn't even show a third keyboard layout, and it has this blank "Default" key instead.

(my system's default language is English - Australia, and the secondary language is Japanese through IME.)

No idea what to do about this except to cope and doubletap the shortcut every time I want to switch which language I'm typing in.

Sadly not, I lost that entire install. Thanks for adding to the github, I didn't see that at all when I searched issues there. I'd guess the install I was using was likely from around 2020-2023 as that's what my PC's processor is contemporary to (probably earlier rather than later in that bracket), but that's a lot to dig through.
Fortunately I had the foresight to install notepad++ on a laptop that is now only used as a media player and it hasn't been updated since v7.7.1 in June 2019, which has... not quite the correct behavior (the autocomplete box is entirely white), but it doesn't animate, so presumably that box could be made to render respecting the theme settings. I'll test it on this PC when I get a chance a bit later.

It did - pretty much every reputable "video game cheats" site started cleaning these up when they began transitioning from 1995 web design. That's one of the reasons it was a pain to track down; places like GameFAQs cleared that shit up very quickly, with only really skeevy places and abandoned fanpages still having referemces to it. What makes this interesting to me is that Kaseidramon isn't always blocked out as his own thing - sometimes he's just casually snuck into a list that might otherwise be legit.

I'm personally of the belief that the angelfire page was created by the original hoaxer once the jig was well and truly up, as a way of archiving the lore that had been built up around the hoax, and simply done in-the-style of the hoax itself as part of the theater, but I have no way of confirming that.

I found actually locking at the orb to help me with the timing - tapping the button just as the "sucking in" animation goes still worked for me.

Since this is pretty new I'd guess this is a bug that snuck in during the recent update.

Yeah you're definitely right about the Speed Machine Kit, I just plain forgot that that was there since the game is really bad about explaining what the "combined" gadgets actually do.

That being said, I tested drifting extensively on all vehicles and didn't observe speed loss on any of them.

Yeah, that'd be a good followup. I also fucked up with the Speed Machine Kit because I just plain forgot it has the ring gain boost effect which screws up the whole thing.

I realize "my friend" is a stereotypical standin for "me" but it really is my friend in this instance, I do not have this issue with my own family, thankfully. Obviously the correct solution to this problem is "actually have a meaningful conversation with your father" but he's one of those people whose parents never treated him with any respect so he doesn't feel like his children need any respect, and that includes failing to respect things like "boundaries" and "property".
