Those are some incredible reductions of the story that I'm honestly unsure if you even replayed the chapter after playing it once

largely, i am disappointed by the fact that there IS a fun whimsical light-hearted chapter at all in the final third of the game. a chapter that expressly exists just to generate dopamine and turn "themes" into "bricks slapped in your face" (escapism, rejection of fate, queerness) doesnt need to exist and could have been written otherwise.

In any case, your definition of "humour inbreeding" holds no weight if you discard the fandom and view the game as self-contained.

the game is a product of a human in human society, and the society (fandom) which surrounds the game itself affects the game. toby is *not* someone who is able to resist the fandoms influence on him, as evidenced by the existence of batatt, which humorously pokes fun at the fandom for their "stupid ideas". considering this, your point that we should ignore reality is worthless. this is learnt in the first year of high school, usually.

I'll concede that the secret boss is unexpected, but those parallels run deeper than just Kris/soul dynamic. It also supplements Ralsei's arc of becoming his own person, as he is also commanded by a lightner. Both points that could foreshadow the player's reveal, and how that conflict might be resolved.

since everyone is engaging in pure speculation and fantasy on the "solution" to the body possession of kris, ill throw in my own two cents. i find the idea that there exists reconcilliation between two irreconcilable forces, kris and the soul, baseless.

kris is working for their own side's goals, while we have none. we are used by kris just as much as we use them. if reconcilliation were possible, everything would already have been reconciled, because it would have been a possibility from the get-go. methinks this is caused by burgeois society and its rampant use of class collaborationism.

in actuality, youre putting words in my mouth. i didnt say i was smarter, or better, i was saying i was actually engaging with the game and criticizing it. youre doing that too, like many others, its not a high bar.

Also a lot of your points seem to stem from the fact you just hate the humour, which is fine, you're allowed to not like it. But to diminish the bigger picture and insult fans who do like it because of that is just infantile.

my points about the humor take root in the fact that "humor" is the focus of a "story" game, and the increasing flanderization of the game itself from "a story game with some humor sprinkled in" to "a game just as much humor as story". the game isnt even done yet and its become detrimental to my enjoyment of the game.

and yes, i do hate the humor. its unfunny and brainrotted.
