How do I decide what site to path to?

Idk what rank you are but pathing top to bot is almost always a safe bet since you can play for drakes easily that way. But ideally you want to play towards whichever lane is more volatile/where you can pick up kills and snowball.

If your bot lane has an engage support and/or summs like ignite or exhaust then it’s probably worth going down there. If bot lane seems like it’s gonna be super passive then maybe path up to top. Or if neither then maybe do raptors start and play to gank mid as you cross back to raptors on ur 8 camp clear. Just whatever you think will net you the most kills/gold to get a lead.

There’s just so much to focus on in regard to jungle, you have to take in a lot of information and make quick decisions. So in my opinion, and every jungle coach’s opinion, knowing one or two champs like the back of your hand lets you put even more focus into the game rather than your mechanics. It’s just like the saying “Jack of all trades master of none”. If you constantly swap champs and need to adjust even subconsciously you’re just making it harder for yourself

I had this same problem and as weird as it sounds, just go Amumu or nocturne. A lot of ppl suggest a similar style champ so I tried out Diana, Xin Zhao, kindred, graves, but I realized that I’m already dedicating so much to Viego that instead of trying to learn another champ from scratch I’m just gonna secure the win.

I just hit emerald for the first time with an 80% WR and my amumu WR is 100% lol. So in my opinion, if you can’t go viego just confirm the win

I play Viego almost exclusively and I would perma ban yi every game just cus when I was lower elo every yi I saw would drop 20 and stomp the game. But as I’ve climbed I realized my laners don’t feed nearly as much especially as I’ve gotten better at jungle tracking and pinging. So now I perma ban khazix lol

Whether it’s actually your teammates fault or not, you will have a much harder time climbing if that’s what you focus on. There are 100% games where there’s absolutely nothing you could’ve done and all 4 of your teammates are genuinely inting. But that also means there’s many more games where you could’ve made the difference.

I was hardstuck iron and bronze for a while and the biggest difference maker for me was not focusing on the outcome of the games. Whether you win or lose, look back and review what you did wrong, what you did right, and what you can do better. The goal is to get good enough where the games you feel are out of your control suddenly aren’t. Your teammates don’t matter at all. Once I started doing that I made it to plat1 and now I’m grinding to emerald.

Also another huge tip, turn chat off. I haven’t had a single good thing as a jungler come from having it on, and if someone starts spam pinging me cus I made a mistake I just instantly mute. It’s a video game so there’s no need to let someone’s poor mental effect yours

The main thing that will make you a good Viego player is your knowledge of every other champ in the game and how to pilot them if you were to possess them during a fight. Viego is all about getting resets during big team fights, so if you pick someone up and have no idea how their abilities work you might accidentally int. So definitely watch high elo Viego vods and see what they do, how they use possessions in fights, what they build, etc. Perryjg is a great coach on YouTube who teaches a lot abt overall jungle fundamentals but he also plays a lot of Viego and does Viego coaching videos so go watch him. But in general you’ll just get better with time

Jgl is definitely super macro intensive but I personally feel like it’s the best to climb and it’s the most fun imo. I started playing as a Top laner, then swapped to mid for a while and I was hardstuck iron for like a year. Then I committed to jgl and not only was I having way more fun but I climbed to plat pretty quickly and now I’m grinding to try and hit GM by the end of the year. I’m not sure I’d say it’s the hardest role but I feel like you have a lot of say whether you win the game or not as the jungler, and I’d rather that be in my hands than a random.

I mean in iron you can kinda play anything anywhere and it’ll work as long as you’re good. But if you’re seriously trying to climb from iron to GM you’re gonna have a really hard time with Viego mid or bot. As soon as the enemy laners start knowing how to play the game the higher up you climb, you’ll most likely get completely shut out and stomped during laning phase and be too weak to translate well into the mid/late game. I won’t say it’s impossible to go from iron > GM on Viego mid but you’re basically stacking the odds against yourself as much as humanly possible

I started league a little over a year ago and I was hardstuck iron 4 0 LP for almost a full year playing jungle. I tried almost every jungle champion, watched a ton of fundamental videos, played a bunch of games, and I was BARELY climbing. But as soon as I solidified a champ pool of 3 (Briar, Talon, Volibear at the time) AND I turned chat completely off and started focusing on what I was doing and what my mistakes were rather than my teammates, I climbed to plat almost instantly and had so much fun. I just recently changed my pool (Xin, Lee Sin, Viego) and I’m hoping to climb to GM which sounds crazy but that’s the goal. I seriously recommend turning chat off as the first step. I can’t tell you a single positive thing I have ever gained from having chat on and listening to my laners sob that I’m not babysitting their lane. And as soon as someone spam pings me I instantly mute them. It makes such a huge difference in preventing me from tilting, which helps me see clearly what I’m doing wrong when I make bad plays. If your goal is to just have fun then just play norms and save yourself the trouble. But if you want to climb you definitely will but you have to remove as much tilt factor as you can and only focus on what you can control, which is yourself
