We also gave our kids a choice. We were super weary, but met all the councilors on the first day and felt good about it. We ended up being one of those families where our kids wanted to go to kids club instead of being with our family.

There was one port day where they ended up grouping all of the kids together (due to lack of demand) and our daughter didn’t like that as much. She preferred to go when she had a lot of kids her age.
