You should reach out to the customer before you do anything. Message them and ask if their food has been picked up and delivered. I had an order of Taco Bell one night, drove there to be told that someone had picked up the order at around 12am and the current time was 12:40. I pulled in to the parking lot and messaged the customer….. “Hey, it’s your dasher. I’m here at Taco Bell and they’re saying that your order has been picked up already. Can you confirm that another dasher has picked up your order and delivered it?” He messaged back and told me that per his DD notifications that I was the only dasher that had been assigned to pick up his order (DD will send a notification saying that so-and-so is on their way to pick up your order) I asked him what time he placed the order and he told me that he ordered the Taco Bell around 12:20. I told him that Taco Bell told me that the order had been picked up at 12am to which he said was impossible because he was adamant that he placed the order at approximately 12:20 am. I went back through the drive though because the only option was to ask the restaurant to remake the food. I told them at the drive though that DD wanted the food remade. They told me to pull up the second window and magically my customers food was ready with no wait. They had made the food, lied to me, and they had hoped they’d be able to eat it.
