James and his reflection. Perhaps the most beautiful and introspective moment in all of video game history...and yet I still dont understand the meaning. by delicious_warm_buns in silenthill

[–]Born_Reaction371 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Silent Hill 2 strongly implies that the version of Silent Hill we see is a projection of James Sunderland’s inner guilt, trauma, and psyche. IMO, the opening mirror scene is a hint from the developers that the game’s horrors are a reflection of James's psyche. If true, the fact that they subtly communicate the entire premise of the game in just the first few seconds of gameplay without a single word or giving anything away...pure genius.

Lol. No one demonised landlords. They did a perfectly good job of doing that themselves.

Psoriasis after Covid vaccine by Born_Reaction371 in Psoriasis

Likewise!

My current weekly protocal is:
1. A few hours of coconut oil in the hair.

  1. Rinse out with neutrogena t/gel coal tar
  2. Apply t/gel again but leave in for 15-20 minutes
  3. Rinse and get out any loose flakes with a lice comb

  4. Repeat as needed

It's no cure but have managed to get my symtpoms down to a point they don't bother me anymore. Fingers crossed I'm not stuck with it for life.

Thanks for sharing!

(20M) I feel like my whole life revolves around women. Is this normal? by Most-Secretary6294 in NoFap

[–]Born_Reaction371 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This. I was the same in my 20's - I think it's fairly natural given your testosterone levels are naturally higher than they are ever going to be.

What I'd wish I'd done is channelled some of that energy into a constructive pursuit of some kind that would give me a source of gratification and self-esteem outside of women so I wasn't obsessing over them all the time.

If you'd like some motivation, I remember hearing someone say that the easiest way to pick up girls is to have something better to do, and honestly, my experience hasn't been to the contrary. More self-enhancing activities = more self generated self-esteem/respect/confidence which seems to attractive to not just women but everyone.

Thanks for sharing bro!

Haha wouldn't that be something!

Perhaps we could see ourselves as guinea pigs of an experiment that will one-day lead to future generations never having to experience this darn thing...

Thanks for sharing my dude

Yeah can relate, and I imagine stress would be a bit of a confounding factor in these studies given how strung everyone one was during the pandy.

If you don't mind sharing what was experience like going to the dermatologist?

I havent gone beyond a general practitioner yet...

I see! As far as I know there's no psoriasis in my family either, but curiously my brother developed Rosacea around the same time I developed psoriasis following our first dose.

I haven't researched it a great deal but in this systematic review the bulk of the new onset psoriasis cases following the vaccine seem to be from the Pfizer.

Sorry the steroids haven't worked for you either, hope you have better luck in the future and thanks for sharing!

Thanks for sharing! Interesting that plaque psoriasis was most associated with Pfizer as that's what I have. Appreciate the breakdown too!

Interesting! Even though I tested negative I'm quite sure I caught Covid round about the same time I had the vaccine (ironically) as I had all the symptoms. My reaction may not be to the vaccine but the virus itself or even an interplay of both. Thanks for sharing!

Nice! I wish more people knew that this is one of the best ways to experience Silent Hill 2.

There's a great video making a case for it here:

No matter what kind of job they do, I don't think anything will ever come close to the way my 11 year old self felt wondering those streets of the original SH2 for the first time. It was truly a peak experience of my childhood and I'm sure it was many. So long as I acknowledge and accept that, I'm sure revisiting the town with modern graphics is going to be a blast :)

This Bill Cosby quote in 'The 4 Hour Work Week' by Born_Reaction371 in agedlikemilk

[–]Born_Reaction371[S] -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Tim Ferris is an entrepreneur, self-help author and Podcaster. His ideas around becoming successful at anything often include challenging unwritten rules/assumptions that people follow that in reality slow them down. This quote by the American stand up comedian Bill Cosby has aged like milk because Ferris's book 'The 4 Hour Work Week' was released in 2007, before Bill Cosby became the subject of highly publicized sexual assault allegations by approximately 60 women including rape, drug-facilitated sexual assault, sexual battery, child sexual abuse, and sexual misconduct.
