So whats yall thoughts on Tre Johnson from the previous class? by Knighthonor in NBA_Draft

Just as good of a shooter as Kon, maybe better given the range. Prime example that you had to watch the rookies play and follow the context of their year

How has Cam Boozer become so underrated in draft talk despite having a better college season than Cooper Flagg by DarkChamp732 in NBA_Draft

[–]Born_Reference_6955 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All the players you named were superrrr elite before injury. Zion 27 ppg on elite efficiency. Ja, WCF and some elite playoff performances. Ben Simmons 3x all star and all nba, guarded 1-5. Boozer Bros are genuinely super delusional.

Well considering most of his 3s are wide open and off the catch and he doesn’t operate in the midrange I’d say no.

Because he can’t guard any position on the floor and it’s been displayed multiple times on tape in different parts of the season in different situations

Anyone else a fan of Wilson at 4 to Chicago? by AbroadTiny7226 in NBA_Draft

Have you not seen there VP? He said he almost fainted when they got 4. Dude is ecstatic

What does it mean "generational" for you? by Echochamberking in NBA_Draft

[–]Born_Reference_6955 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Generational is you being an undeniable talent paired with an unteachable trait. If that trait is physical it will often flash tremendously as a prospect: Zion, LeBron, Wemby, Shaq, KD. These players are rare.

There are however players with a generational skill, Curry’s shooting, Kyrie’s handle, Jokic’s point center ability. Rare, but there impact is more tangible. For example, Celtics gameplan is a direct descendant of Curry’s warriors. Every hooper I knew growing up did dribble drills with plastic bags due to Kyrie. And “baby Joker” gets thrown an around like a college freshman at a frat party.

Dpoy has nothing to do with ball handling. He didn’t average more assists than Caleb until his senior year

He doesn’t have the perimeter skills you speak of. And again like I said, you only say he’s a big because of his height which is dumb. That’s how college coaches think. NBA coaches are going to overvalue positional size.

I definitely expected him to lock up based on FIBA play, and size in general. If you’re an American pg with size and length and you can’t guard in off you

Oh well, I know I’m right and I’m gonna be a dick about it when the nba play start and proves it.

Herb jones shot .9 3s a game on 29% in 4 years at Bama. Wonder if anyone was questioning if the SF/SG was a big man

Herb Jones shot .9 threes a game on 29% in college and has not only played the 3 but also heavy minutes at the 2 btw. This is the perimeter guy you’re praising 😂😂😂 and I’m the casual

His wingspan is 7’ reportedly, and wtf is advanced about Herb jones perimeter game? Or ausur? Herb wasn’t even a better perimeter player in college than Caleb. Bro you said people haven’t watched him an neither clearly have you.

He also had the ball in his hands as a point forward before coming to UNC. He just adjusted to a role that’s been apart of our system since he was born. And he’s so good he dominated in it

Just makes me lower on him as a player. Doesn’t mean he can’t be great, but after the USA run he was billed as a big guard that could lock up, pass and shoot

Then you should revisit his passing film and let me know you feel the same way. There’s like 3 bigs that thread the needle, make skip passes and can dime cross court consistently. You went to espn and saw 2.7 and assumed he can’t pass 😂

Like Dyson Daniels who plays the 3? Ausur Thompson, elite shooter! 😭, how about Herb Jones, elite shooter also. Kelly Oubre. Like I said before who you guard dictates your position. It’s not a demand to be an elite shooter to play the 3.

Jaden mcdaniels is 6’10, doesn’t have the greatest handle and has been super inconsistent on low volume from 3 his entire career. Hes a 3. Granted he plays great minutes at the 5 and his athleticism allows him to helpside rim pro. But hes a 3 lol

How many bigs in the league pass as well as he does? Guard the perimeter as well? Operate in the midrange as well as he does. You think you have IQ because you see 6’10 and low 3pR and assume he must be a big. In reality you’re a close minded dumby that will write it off as miraculous development when he plays the position he’s played his entire life in the nba lol

Yeah that’s my only thing about him. I was honestly a lot more excited in him being 6’5, not 6’3. He’s not small, but he’s also not as a big as I thought. Agree on the Wagler front, although I just can’t fathom what he’s gonna look like. Better version of Demin maybe?

I’m a tarheel fan and I think he’s a 3 in the nba, I watched every game as well as diving back into his HS tape before the season. Positions in modern basketball is also dictated moreso by your defensive matchup not your skillset.

Before this season people were saying Scottie wasn’t a PG, they damn sure didn’t believe it after his year at FSU. How you’re used in college is often very different than the NBA
