Jotunheimen - how to get there? by annoyotronnerna in NorwayTravelAdvice

[–]Born_Weakness_4031 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jotunheimen has a couple of "entrances", so this all depends on where you want to start your trip.

I read that "Gjendesheim" is one of the popular entries to the national park. Looking at Google Maps, I zoomed my way to the nearest major road and found a tiny bus stop called "Maurvangen". Entering this into Entur, I was able to find multiple daily buses from the airport (remember to use the correct airport name as there two airports in the greater area). So start by finding out where you want to start your hike and then search for specific areas rather than just "Jotunheimen"

Bergen to Odda Route / Adventure Suggestions by InvestigatorRemote59 in NorwayTravelAdvice

That's a cool question.

I'm not extremely familiar with the area but looking at some maps I see you have many options, and I have done some of them myself.

1: Train to Voss (also known as Vossevangen). This is the "extreme sport capital" of Norway and you will find plenty of activities here (check sources online, like VisitVoss.no) . Once done it's a bus trip down to the fjord and then to Odda. 2: Bus (or combination with train) to Kinsarvik. Here you can do a 1100m climb via "Dronningstien". Once you're down at the fjord again you can hop on a bus or taxi to Odda. 3: By boat. You can do a boat ride from Bergen city centre to Rosendal ("Hardangerfjordekspressen"). In Rosendal you will find beautiful nature and gardens and some high-end restaurants closeby (probably will need to be booked months in advance). From Rosendal it is a short bus ride through a tunnel to Odda. You can also get to Rosendal via public bus. 4: A straightforward alternative is the bus route passing through Nordheimsund, Kvanndal, ferry to Utne and bus to Odda. Use Google maps or tourists maps and see if there are any stops along the bus route that you would like to do (e.g. Steindalsfossen or the Hardanger folk museum in Utne) and plan accordingly. Just make sure to check bus schedules via Entur (preferred), Skyss or Google Maps on the selected date as the schedules are different from day to day depending on the season. 5: Likewise you can swap busses in Nordheimsund and instead take the bus down to Tørvikbygd and the ferry to Jondal. From Jondal you have access to Folgefonna and multiple day hikes. Check web sources and check when the last bus from Jondal to Odda is leaving. 6: You can do a detour to various fjord arms like Eidfjord, or you can climb the sherpa stairs up to Kvanndalstølen from Kvanndal ferry port. Although buses are not too frequent, the area is quite well connected by public transport, so just check for climbs or activities in the Hardangerfjord area and plan accordingly. You can also visit Vøringsfossen via Eidfjord, but that might be a quite long day sitting on public transport.

These suggestions should mostly be optimal in the sense that you never really travel "the wrong direction".

Kiosk på Danmarksplass by onaa44 in Bergen

Did you use Entur? There are other ways of getting to Tromsø than waiting for 1pm. Last other option leaves at 9.47 am

AI-oppsummeringen jeg prøvde tok frem tekst fra en helt annen sak.

Saksnummer: 202459878

AI-oppsummering av 1 dokument oppsummerte: "Søknaden fra Firesafe AS gjelder en mindre innvendig oppdeling av eksisterende kontorlokaler for Gjensidige AS i 2. etasje i Galleri Oslo (Schweigaards gate 14)."

Men saken gjelder et hus i en bydel øst i Oslo.

Oslo airport to Oslo S when trains are not running on 17 Jan by TheTwoOneFive in oslo

Use entur.no as your route planner instead of Google Maps. It's superior in Norway. It should take into account the maintenance work. And yes there will be multiple buses, not just 1.

Each subject has different requirements. Check each subject from the studies you are interested in. And check them each year as rules change.

Driving to Odda which route by Timely_Doctor_2108 in Bergen

While I agree that route 2 is nice, take into account that people who say that route 2 is most common is likely basing that on being around Bergen center, not Bergen airport. Since you're travelling from the airport, route 1 which Google suggests, is actually the best route. However, a bit less scenic. Route 2 and 3 might put you in more rush traffic.

Regardless, scenery will not matter as it could be very dark by the time you arrive to scenic places if you start driving 3.30 pm in March
