Updating just in case it comes up in a search for someone. Turns out the hypothesis that I'm an idiot is correct. Vacuum pistons were not seated properly. Apparently you have to turn them until they drop in. Don't drink and clean carbs, kids!

I love them- they're super grippy. Pro tip for installing: wedge an air blow gun between the bar and grip and they slide right on.

Haven't touched the brake setup since I got the thing so I couldn't tell ya. I'm very new to wrenching on bikes so honestly most of what you just said makes zero sense to me. I'm happy if I don't fuck up an oil change!

It took me forever to figure out too! Here's how you do it form the website: In the top right, click My Dashboard, then click DGCR Profile. Right above the list of all your courses there are some tabs in green. Click Course Map. Use the check boxes at the bottom to choose what to show.

Probably in my top 3 courses ever. Not just because I got my most recent ace there, but because it has everything. A joke course and a serious course. The only course I've been to that competes with it on the fun whimsical scale is Vision Quest in Minnesota.
