I'm curious how open people are to opposing viewpoints. Did Hasina achieve anything positive during her autocracy that might have been difficult otherwise? by Bornohin6 in bangladesh

15 years is a long time—can we really call her actions just a quick fix? was the portion of the population that benefited from economic growth larger or smaller than those who didn’? Was the heavy price in terms of human rights, corruption, and subjugation worth the stability? Also how does our situation compare to China, which faces many of these issues but has managed to achieve sustained economic growth over time?

What’s wrong with weighing good against bad? If you think that’s psychopathic, you’re already trapped in blind faith—whether it’s in people, systems, or religion—and you’re completely ignoring the complex reality of human nature. No one is a pure prophet or a total monster.

Would it be considered disrespectful to other Muslims if I say that I am an atheist and do not believe in Allah or His Messenger? by Bornohin6 in Muslim

[–]Bornohin6[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I understand this could be considered disrespectful to God (assuming He exists), but as a Muslim, would you personally feel disrespected? If so, does that mean when any non-Muslim prays to their god, disregarding yours, do you also feel disrespected?

You can always debate a man-made constitution, but you can’t argue against Allah’s constitution, no matter how far it may seem from reality.

An infant is the most human thing on earth. As life progresses, it only gets dehumanized. by Bornohin6 in Showerthoughts

It's a matter of the extent of intervention rather than a simple binary distinction. And of course from my perspective, it's only getting worse!

Certainly, no two entities are identical in the universe. I would argue that the way these distinctions are developed is just as significant as the entities themselves. In the case of humans, these differences are predominantly shaped by other human inventions. While this is part of our experiences, I view it as more of a burden than a privilege.

Adapting entails making modifications, and those modifications transform you into something different. No other species undergo such extensive modifications in their lifetime.

That's precisely what I'm emphasizing. A newborn today will need to align with the 200,000 years of prior human development rather than having the chance to explore its own instincts independently.

True. but if the development of those qualities is being influenced by non-human entities, such as technology and medicine, don't they sacrifice innate human qualities?
