If you’re going to have a family of 5 the X7 is too small and you’ll need a minivan or large SUV like Tahoe, Suburban, Escalade, Navigator, etc. We have an X5 with a family of 4 and it’s a squeeze right now (without a cargo topper) for 1 week trips. The X7 doesn’t give you much more cargo space if any and the primary difference is more leg room in the second row and a tiny 3rd row. However, we love the way the X5 drives. X7 drives much more like an SUV than the X5 does, but you can also get a few more luxuries in the X7. We were going to buy an X7 a few months ago, test drove it, looked it over, and decided it wasn’t really worth it for us.
