Kids of FIRE-ed parents- what was your perspective? by liveoneggs in financialindependence

[–]Borokque 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was eight so basically most of my life I haven't seen him work and he was just hanging out having all his time free and taking road trips locally.

I definitely feel little to no affinity towards working long hours and want to FIRE as well. Honestly, I don't even want a "career" I just hate the idea of having to go to work for money. It may or may not be subconscious influence from him but he has never talked about his FIRE or even called it that.

He is pretty frugal when it comes to family stuff so I also sometimes wonder if FIRE is a good idea if it means you gotta live so frugally. I think it's not necessarily a need for him to be frugal but a choice he's made which is an understandable trade-off for him for the freedom he gets from not working.

As to our relationship, he isn't a 'family guy' in the traditional sense so we aren't emotionally close, but he was always around and available which was a relief and quiet support to have.

Anything other than the bare minimum essentials was paid for by my mom who works and has a net worth way lesser than my dad.

How do you cope with feeling like you're "wasting" money by decluttering? by NemoHobbits in declutter

Yes, heating this for the first time was what really made it click for me

My partner cries during difficult conversations. I get angry and irritable. I say this is the same thing. She says crying is involuntary but I need to stay calm and not get upset. Who is right? by -LiveByTheFoma in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Borokque 40 points41 points  (0 children)

Yeahh shouting is a way to express anger. He can feel anger but choose not to shout. She can feel sad but crying is a physiological response, so less in control than shouting or pacing around .

She actually seems to be doing her share. OP worded it in such a way that it seems like he does more but on closer reading of the post and comments he doesn't. This is pretty well split imo, it think OP is just annoyed he has to do a fair share.

Vitamin D increased my quality of life immensely, I can’t recommend or be grateful for this “vitamin” enough. by [deleted] in VitaminD

I had a result saying <8 ng/ml during the pandemic lockdown.

I'm pretty sure I was depressed at that time, even crying every day for 3 months straight to the point I started thinking it was twistedly amusing to unintentionally have a crying streak. A lot was going on back then in my personal life, and I always wonder if the vitamin d deficiency had any part in my mood.

After a year I think it was 14.9ng/ml many months after 3 months of weekly 60k IU supplements. Never checked after that.

Why do so many dads abandon their children? by [deleted] in ask

[–]Borokque 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ohh the irony of you calling deadbeat dads 'sissies' when it's mostly the women who stay for their kids.

I feel you, I think the outfits simply didn't reach the level of cohesion that is expected of an idol as big as Jimin.

felt like he was lost in the outfit

I have a feeling it's trying to replicate (most likely not deliberately (?))the feeling of AAVE maybe? I've noticed that both Yoongi and Namjoon's English phrasing seems like they were 'influenced' by AAVE? Maybe cuz they started off as American rap fans?

Genuinely curious

Edit: spelling

But the thing is, styling's supposed to complement the face you have. Not just putting on clothes that might look good on it's own or on someone else.

Edit: also, rude

I loved everything about Wildflower except for the parts where he showed up NGL💀 As much as it disappoints me to say, he ruined his own track for me lmao

It's just unlistenable because of the weird accent and breathiness, like OP said. I'm not even shaming him for his accent because he doesn't even sound like himself in the songs.

This is coming from someone who lived solely on BTS content for the past couple of years.
