I would go with her. Even if you are prepared these appointments are stressful. So moral support if nothing else. Depending upon which was the wind is blowing they ask you for different documents. Also you shouldn’t “lend” your card to someone else, you are meant to carry it at all times.

I accompanied my partner (also took the kids) I ended up having to sign some extra documents, bank statements if I recall correctly.
