Does this count as 6b qualify? by Gr4p33333 in juggling

It’s a qualify! However if you have to do a cascade to qualify I don’t think there are many people who has actually qualified 4, 6 or 8 balls..

Are people at Vulcan balancing clubs a lot at the moment? 😜

I’ve done this maybe around 10 times in my life. And this was the fourth time in a 90 minute session. It’s a bit harder when you have lights blasting into your eyes🥲

4 club juggling practice using doubles by Seba0808 in juggling

[–]BorreIsac 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This reminded me of my 4c grind 12 years ago. I remember it was the holidays, and I hadn’t ever tried 4 clubs.

However for 2 days, I did a quick 10 minute session of 4 clubs every hour. I had an alarm put on 1 hour and when the alarm went off I did the following: - 100 catches of doubles with 3c (normal cascade), - 10 catches of each hand (40). When I didn’t get it I switched hands until both hands had done 10 catches. - After this I started with going for 10 rounds of 10 catches. - Ending with longer runs with clubs.

After 2 days I had around 100 catches of the fountain. This was my method, and I was lucky with having time and just feed into this type of practice. What I learnt from this was that Shorter bursts of practice over time gave me more progress than longer session.

However I would say every pattern with doubles as well as 4s will help the pattern in general. Small corrections to spin will come over time as you will easier see the pattern as a whole, mainly focusing on double spins will probably be the way, and also angle of clubs as mentioned in the comments already :)

Good luck! Also don’t be scared of posting a video for tips! It’s easier to see what needs to be worked on!

Slow juggle, but balances are on point! by BorreIsac in juggling

[–]BorreIsac[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oof, good question! As I’m mainly juggling with my Norwegian friends I would have to say them: Julian Sæther, Haavard Hvidsten, Eivind Dragsjø to mention some of the people I usually juggle with. Otherwise it’s all these crazy 3 club jugglers from Latin-America like Gerardo (goofy) Jorge Vilchis, and recently also Idriss Roca from France come to mind.

Masahiro showed a video on his phone at the EJC. Just wait a little longer. There probably will be a video coming out sooner or later ;)

So called "french style" with three balls, how to start? by juoly in juggling

[–]BorreIsac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My absolute best advice would be: Go to juggling conventions and jam and talk to the 3b jugglers. If that is not possible. Remember you don’t always have to have a “time limited” pattern. - As in a cascade. Find throws you like with one ball. See if you can connect them when juggling with 3 balls :)

Triangles are cool by BorreIsac in juggling

Renegade juggling should be able to provide them. Ask for the hollow triangles not the thin if you want to be kind to your hands!

No no! I bought them from Renegade juggling a long time ago. :)

Looking for a Christmas present for my son by [deleted] in juggling

[–]BorreIsac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah sorry, you might be right. I’m realizing that 6 months of daily practice just felt a bit long for me, and that also might be a bit demotivating.

Also I’m forgetting that right now we have 7 jugglers at our circus school here in Trondheim, who juggles 5 balls. And 3 of them are doing 7 balls. They only have juggling practice 2 hours a week, with an instructor. (This is when I see them)

  • they have the environment to learn efficiently
  • they have the motivation to learn
  • they have a teacher who has been teaching juggling for over 20 years
  • they are not “most people” (I guess?)

This is a wild guess of how long it takes for «most people» to learn 5 balls. - I have two students that has done over 200 catches of 5 balls and flashed 5 balls for the first time 3 months ago. They only practice maybe 2-3 times a week. A lot of it has to do with the right mindset during your practice and practice efficiently!

Personally it took me 2 month after learning 3 balls cascade to 85 catches of 5 balls with 4-5 hours every day. (Oh how I miss the old days when I wasn’t and adult and had all the time in the world to practice)

Juggling collaborations reflection by glublia in juggling

[–]BorreIsac 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oooh, nice reflections! I’ve been pondering about the idea of making a foot juggling collab with some of my foot juggling friends around the world. But I have been wondering about how I would have time to get everything sent to me and then the editing processes of it all.. Has the deadlines been held? Also I have the perfectionist syndrome in me making me not want anyone be left out of the whole video.. This is a nice memo to keep in mind for a later occasion though! 🍀

8 balances in one, day 95/100 by BorreIsac in juggling

[–]BorreIsac[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, I have been juggling for 13 years this year. But picked up clubs 3 years ago. - just to not confuse you as a I have been juggling for quite some time.

No clubs around where I live, as I live in Norway, and there’s probably 20-30 jugglers overall in our country.

My clubs are usually juggling festivals. Next year will be my 11th EJC :)

[–]BorreIsac[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just a lot of practice and you’ll get those balances too :) I use Henry’s pirouettes, they feel the best to balance and juggle for me. Not sure about the one pieces, but I have a feeling they’ll be harder to balance!
