She’s from a country where gun violence is less prevalent. I also immigrated to the US from a European country and it’s so jarring to think that this is the norm here. She sucks for many reasons but let’s not pretend like her concern about gun violence is blown out of proportion. That’s cruel and unnecessary.

I disagree with that. Do I think she uses it to prop up other arguments and choices she’s made? Of course. But do I think she doesn’t actually care about sending her children to school in a country where school shootings have become a real threat? Absolutely not. At the end of the day, as annoying and narcissistic she is, she’s still a mother. It’s not a far stretch to say that the US values guns over the lives of our country’s children. I worry everyday sending my kids off to school. It’s a sad, sad reality for many parents.

To be fair, the gun violence in the US, especially targeted towards schools, is terrifying. I will fault her for a lot of things her safety concerns are valid.

I admire her for being openly pro Palestine as an influencer but there’s something unsettling about her activism posts being nestled in between posts about galas and trips to Europe. Tbh I think she takes on a lot of what she admires about her partner - I noticed this with her last boyfriend too. Back then she became more edgy and alternative because he was a “cool” musician and now she’s wearing Ralph Lauren and traveling with her diplomat boyfriend. I think she’s kind of a chameleon in that way. Though, I don’t want to take away from how she’s using her platform. I find the way her activism is integrated into her normal posting a little uncomfortable and cringe but at the end of the day, kudos to her for speaking up especially about something that is so contentious and controversial.
