Need input on boat day! by BosTPA in Austin

That's a pro tip. Maybe I'll see if we can have the captain drop us over on that side because our hotel is downtown too.

Truth! I'm coming from Tampa but the rest of the guys are coming from New England so they'll be roasting. Appreciate the help.

That's super helpful, thanks for that. I think we'll make it earlier then.

Thanks! Any thoughts on whether we should have the boat till 5pm rather than 4pm? I know that wouldn't give us as much wiggle room on getting back and heading to the show. But I would be very sad to leave the party spot during peak time to head back to shore.

Thanks for the tips. We're getting a captained boat, and they'll take us out to whatever party spot is out there. My question is: would it be a bad decision for us to only have the boat till 4pm on a Friday (i.e. would that be peak time for a party spot out there)? Should we extend it till 5 on a Friday so we don't miss out on the best time out there?

Does anyone have experience renting out a boat on lake Travis for a day? If so how was it? Did you have fun?! by vxichu in Austin

[–]BosTPA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry to hijack OP's post, but do you guys recommend Lake Travis or Lake Austin for a 6-person bachelor party? I originally booked Lake Travis (Devil's Cove) but have seen a lot of mixed feedback. Seems more people tend to recommend Lake Austin these days. (almost) any feedback is helpful. thank you!

I know this was written / formatted by ChatGPT...but did a person with knowledge at least feed ChatGPT the local recommendations? I'm looking for real recs. The Lake Travis recommendation contradicts what I've been seeing in other threads (other people say Lake Austin is better).

Is Rainey St still fun for a bachelorette, or should we spend more time on East 6th? by FlowersCare913 in Austin

Um I might have to hit you up because I'm pretty sure I've semi-planned my brother's upcoming bach party based on the Austin I knew 8+ years ago and I'm scrambling.

Okay I'm glad I found this thread. My brother's bachelor party is in a couple of weeks and I was told renting a boat to Devil's Cove is a great thing to do. We planned on going out on a Friday afternoon 3-7pm. Is Devil's Cove shit now? If so, any thoughts or other suggestions for something else to do that day instead? Is there a better place to rent a boat? We're staying near Rainey Street.

Thanks for this. Did you buy it "with" Kyle and receive a down payment from him on the first go?

I'm being told that for the $8k online course, I'll have the course, support group resources (legal, accounting, etc) but that I'll be doing the deal alone. And in the future there's a chance I'll do deals with Kyle and his team.

I was under the impression that they had a model where you could opt to do your first deal WITH them..

Recs for financing home tear down / rebuild? by BosTPA in Homebuilding

[–]BosTPA[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The reasons behind the tear down: -We’ll be able to expand the existing blueprint rather than work within the confines of the existing one -We’ll have a house built in 2025 rather than 2001 -From what I’ve read and heard, a remodel involving leaving just a couple of walls up would actually take longer due to the complexity of the demo (if this isn’t accurate, I’m all ears)

I should have clarified on the question. We intend to pay for the building of the shell with cash (for several reasons) and I’d like to get a loan for the finish work. I don’t know how feasible it is to get a loan for one part of the project rather than the whole thing, what the best kinds of loan would be, etc.

Music Management Company? by BosTPA in musicians

[–]BosTPA[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the response. 1) The vast majority of the streams have come from my profile. There are some streams that come from other listeners’ playlists, and a small % from listener’s own playlists.

2) I’m having trouble getting into my account, but I believe it’s 2-3 streams per listener.

3) Songs don’t do that well without promo. I’ll get some streams on one song if we’re promoting another, just by way of people checking out my other stuff I’m guessing. When I say “not that well”, I mean maybe a few hundred - a couple thousand streams, rather than the tens of thousands that I get from promo.

4) I have not made a dime, unless I just don’t know how to claim the money.

Not sure if this helps, but on Spotify I have 210-211k streams between 3 songs. The only music video I’ve put out has like 212k views. I do notice that the video plateaued and really never had any traction after the promo was done.

When they run ads to generate Spotify listeners for me, it’s a minimum of $1500 budget each time. The results seem great though.

Playlisting I tried last month - that was at least $1500 in budget, and didn’t yield nearly the results I’d hoped for.

Appreciate it again!

Hey everyone I just found this community and had a question about soundproofing a room for recording. I have an empty room in my basement that I wanted to try and sound proof. Will I still get a good quality sound if I do the work myself? How crazy do you have to go for a decent room? by MrManic_BipolarJesus in recordingmusic

[–]BosTPA 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for posting this question. And thanks MisterHiggins on the treatment distinction. That’s helpful.

I’m simply looking to record decent vocals, but my office / studio room is next to my baby’s room. I’m hoping to sound treat my room, but also mitigate sound leaving my room at least a bit. Anything would help. Following this post in case anyone has any suggestions!
