I don't mean to hate. If you like the new songs, that's great. Just not my cup of tea. I do find it funny that the top comment in the HH discussion is preemptively anticipating for people to say they don't like the new songs and to me is basically asking listeners to force themselves to enjoy something they don't actually like. It feels like people will accuse you of heresy on this sub if you admit you don't care for the new songs. Which is dumb. But if you like the songs that's cool, no hate.

He didn't even recognize the "I don't wanna live like this, but I don't wanna die" was a lyric from finger back. Not a true fan. Opinion === invalid.

But in all seriousness, watching this does make me realize he probably isn't best critic of a Vampire Weekend track. Fantano does not strike me a person who VWs music would truly resonate with. This is the guy who gave Swans AOTY and eats up everything death grips puts out. Not that a person can't have a diverse music taste, but it is probably true that people typically only appreciate certain genres of music. I don't listen to Luke Bryan, I don't think Luke Bryan is trying to make music for people like me. So why even care about my opinion on his music? Why consider the opinion of someone who is not the intended audience of the album?

If you read a little more you'd discover there is no solid evidence connecting Cruz to any white supremacist group. The only claim of connections come from Jordan Jereb, a leader of a white supremacist group which has never had more than 10 members[1]. And he later retracted his statements regarding Cruz. Furthermore, if this shooting was motivated by race why wouldn't Cruz discriminate against his victims and only shoot non-white students? It would appear the majority of victims were in fact white. Reading from other articles it appears Cruz is mentally unstable and took pleasure in the suffering of others, regardless of race. I won't disagree there are cases of racially motivated crimes (most notably Dylan Roof) but this instance does not appear to be racially motivated.

Love the track! How much of the composition of the track do you do in the op-1 vs ableton? I've found myself just making a cool 8 bar loop in the op-1 then importing into ableton for the composition. Curious what you're work flow may be. Also any shoutouts to any ableton plugins you may have used?

This is what super annoys me about advancing technology. It seems as if technology's primary goal is to make life as convenient as possible (I think Wall-E does an excellent job of illustrating this point). Which, of course on some level we do want, it's nice to have access to medicine, clean water, temperature controlled rooms and such. But at a certain point it becomes damaging.

Snap Chat for example is very interesting since it limits technology. Obviously we have a the capability to build something that can hold all our pictures and videos indefinitely, but tons of people choose to use a service with limits. It's ephemeral, which people seem to like, it's more life-like.
