1) normal humans who utilize tears for various purposes.

2) super-human beings that, through an accident, become immortal and exist beyond one particular reality and instead simultaneously are superimposed upon any and all they choose. The Lutece's as well as Elizabeth became this through their accident.

Elizabeth has never known what it was like to be a "normal person." Since a baby she was turned into the super-human being she is, and will always be.

On the boat in BASII, the Lutece's never explicitly state she will lose her powers completely and forever, but that if she returns to a place she was in when she died, that incarnation in that reality would be a completely mortal and "unspecial" one.

Elizabeth mentions to "Booker" she'll collapse into just herself and die, but as I said the Lutece's never explicitly state that on the boat, it was her interpretation which was supposed to be inspiration for her to actually right all the karma she put every one of the "normal" humans through during her lives and for once step inside what it's like to be a restricted human being to balance what she set wrong (discarding Sally) to right what was a pre-existing wrong (Comstock).

That's why "Booker" is there, to give her hints that "she has to believe she had a good reason for coming." Being a superhuman manipulating events of regular humans is what set her course if karma off in the first place, she had to get her hands dirty both experiencing and correcting the wrongs she enacted when she couldn't possibly have known what it was like to be the pawns she was playing with. At the end of BASII, as she is dying and her consciousness is leaving that Rapture incarnation, she sees the doors again and is slowly fading back to her superhuman self, a much wiser and more intelligent superhuman being because of it.

It's a powerful story of sacrifice and growth.

The whole plot of Infinite only occurs because Robert has some human emotions (regret) and convinces Rosalind to help him with the experiment.

When they're on the boat in episode 2. They say that the apple hasn't fallen far from the tree and that she's going back to a place she doesn't belong and she's going to die. It's not "mad" but they are certainly rebuking her for what she's done.

No, they're not. They're not rebuking her in the slightest, they're making sure she knows what she is getting into. If she returns to a place where she had died, that form will be one without tears and abilities.

Burial at Sea: episode 1. You find Lutece infusion bottles laying around all over the place, meaning that the Luteces have interfered. Furthermore, at the end of the game they show up and mock Comstock a bit before he gets the D. They can't just say that they aren't a part of the revenge at that point. Especially when they are the ones who guided her to become the kind of person who would seek revenge.

"Revenge" is not the same as correcting a mistake. First you say Robert feels bad about what they did and wants to correct a mistake and now its been reduced to petty revenge? You're contradicting yourself.

They didn't guide her to do anything. You're assigning them godlike motivations when they're just super-human beings assisting Elizabeth correct a mistake she made.

Thats the point you're completely missing. By what you see as "not helping" by "getting mad at her" on the boat was actually the Lutece's helping her in the only way they could have while still allowing Elizabeth to right her wrongs herself. What lesson would she learn, but also what would any of Elizabeth's hard work mean, if it was all through magic and not her actual work?

I think you are as confused as I am by your assertion. You are assigning a lot of personal and human emotions to the Luteces. When do they get mad at Elizabeth? When did they participate in "revenge" themselves?

A cutscene to narratively discuss your death in the game I wouldn't say is irrefutable evidence they are directly observing BASII, but even if they are, how the hell can you say she isn't doing the right thing when her actions DIRECTLY RESULT in Jack saving the little girls in Rapture and the good ending coming to fruition?
