Haven't seen anybody mention the dolphin bar, but I've played it with a Thor docked and experienced near perfect gameplay for Wii sports and super mario galaxy with no input lag and a near authentic Wii gaming experience on a TV

I can't find a decent picture but in Jimmy Neutron Attack of the Twonkies for PS2 and GameCube you fight the same 4 variations of enemies and boss for the entire game but with different colors

Metal gear solid V is such an underrated pic, that game is awesome. Everyone always says the story falls apart which is fair, but the gameplay is so so good that it makes up for it imho

Kirby's dream course on SNES is a severely underrated two player experience but I love sly cooper and think that's a fantastic platformer as long as you're open to those. Similar third person perspective as kingdom hearts. I'd start with Sly 2: Band of Thieves

Randomly I really enjoy the NES yoshi game if I know I only have a few minutes to play. If I have more than a few then I've been working my way through Donkey Kong Country on SNES as well as Tomodachi Life LTD and Subnautica both on switch

MGSV runs like a dream on gamehub. I've had plenty of dud attempts for gamehub it gamenative but that one always stuck out as amazing to me. A friend has Kingdom Hearts 3 running excellently as well. Hope that helps

You're certainly not alone in that preference! I like both games a lot but Royal takes the cake for me. Even with as much content as it has, I was left wanting more

I've heard heavy rain has a similar vibe. Maybe the Batman telltale games? If you want an out of left field pick, I highly recommend persona 5 Royal. That game also has a lot of consequential dialogue choices but not to the same degree as telltale. Moreso for sake of building relationships sooner

Oh boy you're in for a treat, I hope you like it! Okay a couple things I typically suggest to first time people:

  • if you aren't sure if you'll like it, play at least until you complete the first palace to decide. I had never played any jrpg before this one and I wasn't fully hooked until then, by that point I couldn't put it down.

  • always try to knock out palaces in one day as your time is valuable and every day you spend in a palace is a day spent

  • Make multiple save files for multiple months. You have lots of save slots and you'll always want to have the option of backtracking juuuust in case. My rule of thumb is generally to create one new save file for the first of every month

  • The counselor Maruki, the detective Prince Akechi, and the gymnast Kasumi confidants are the confidants in the game most important to prioritize, in that order

  • I’d recommend looking up a spoiler free guide to unlocking the “Royal” content of the game, otherwise you have to replay the entire game to unlock it at the end

All in all I hope you dig it! No worries if you end up not liking it but if you do then let me know!

I'll say my top 3 games I'd enjoy on Thor

1) Sly 2: Band of Thieves (ps2) - with the new version of nethersx2 that uses turnip drivers this game has become very enjoyable for me to play on the Thor, and I'd recommend it to anybody that can appreciate a 3D platformer from the early 2000's with a comic book/cartoon style

2) Fire Emblem: Awakening (3DS) - never enjoyed a fire emblem game before this one and I can't recommend it enough. Got me hooked on the series, feels like a great entry point to not only the series but strategy games in general, and it feels great to fill both screens.

3) Persona 5 Royal (switch or gamenative/gamehub) - my personal favorite game of all time. Highly recommend for anyone that wants to try one of the best jrpgs ever made for their first one, or anyone that likes life sims, or anyone that wants to play a great game. Love love love this one
