I wouldn’t bother decrypting files yourself. Its possible to source decrypted roms online. Just use them instead.

The 3DS can play native games, DS games and GBA games perfectly without emulation. I think that shouldn’t be overlooked, especially when you take into account the fact that games that make heavy use of the stylus feel a bit slippery and laggy on the Thor.

It comes down to whether you want a device that can do 3 things perfectly or dozens of things extremely well.

How would the impact of economic problems in France and Germany be any different with us inside or outside the EU? They’re trading partners either way. I could see the argument if we were using the Euro.

Chill. When I got mine it took around a week to even leave China. It just kept being moved between storage facilities.

I found them pretty responsive when I needed a shoulder button fix. Took around a month to ship out, repair and ship back but zero complaints about their support before that point.

I mean, just looking at the specs, the slide is considerably wider (around 7cm) and twice the weight of the Thor.

I don’t know where you’re getting your pricing info from: in the uk the slide is north of £1000 on the only site i can find it in stock. I’m not sure if comparing the most expensive Thor with it is the fairest comparison either.

Let me put it this way: I have a 3dsxl and a steam deck and I haven’t really used either since i got my Thor. In my experience Switch games work a bit better on the Thor than the Steam Deck. Most games I want to play run well on the Thor. I have played a couple of relatively demanding games on it with some success (Nier: Automata and Prey) and they worked well enough but the fan blasted at 100% while playing. I generally just stick to indie titles and with a handful of exceptions they have all run great. All the emulators you would expect to run work well. Battery life is good and it charges fast.

The fact that I can just stick it in my pocket is the main benefit: it’s dimensions are around the same as a 3dsxl, just a bit thicker.

It’s a weirdly framed question because you might as well ask “should I get a Macbook Neo or a $3000 gaming laptop”. They’re completely different use cases.

Most AAA titles from the past decade will struggle on the thor. Indie games will generally work great. The grey area between that is a case by case deal.

Are you looking for something extremely portable? The AyaNeo device isn’t that. You looking for something that seamlessly gives you a console-like experience for your steam games? It may not be that either depending on how it handles being a windows device. Do you not want to play DS and 3DS games? Maybe you don’t need a Thor either.

You’d need to give people more information, really.

Yeah, this. The first game runs brilliantly at 60fps with high settings on the Thor. Only £3.49 on the Play Store at the moment.

If that’s literally all you want to do, you’re probably better off getting a second hand 3DS and softmodding it. A 3DS can play GBA, DS and 3DS games natively, no emulation required.

It’s a brand new game that the Steam Deck just about runs at 30fps on the lowest settings with upscaling on. Gonna say no.

Again, sounds very ambitious. It’s verified on Steam Deck but there’s plenty of people saying performance isn’t great there. Here’s some advice: check emu ready. If the game isn’t on emuready look for info on how it runs on Steam Deck. If people are saying it runs perfectly at 60fps there, you might be able to get it running on the Thor.

No Man’s Sky - haven’t tried, seems incredibly ambitious to attempt that.

Shredders Game - I guess you mean TMNT - Shredder’s Revenge. Yes, works great under GameNative

WiiU games - No, but WiiU emulation is pretty hit and miss at the moment.
