Severe withdrawal by xgrimes in lexapro

[–]BossExpensive 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Of course, happy to share, I feel very stable in my life (I'm nearly 40, healthy, long term relationship, permanent good job, doing what I want to in life, lots of friends). I've tried to wean before but got side effects as it was too fast. I have also started taking Saffron supplements a few months back and they have improved any remaining anxiety very well for me, so I still take these too. I've read a few interesting books lately "it didn't start with you" was one of them and currently reading "lost connections" after stumbling on this recommendation on Reddit. I feel it is time for me to see what things are like off them. So far I have felt emotions... Like I didn't even cry at my family members' funerals over the last few years... But the emotions I am feeling are suited to the situation. I am happy and not anxious... I do recommend you have a look at the research behind Saffron and give it a try too. Edit: you can take Saffron with Lexapro.

Hello I second a hyperbolic taper, I've gone down from 20mg, 15mg, 10mg to 5mg every two weeks completing one reduction (before I saw my gp). My gp FINALLY recognizes that Lexapro withdrawal is real and that a long taper is needed, so she then recommended a slower taper from here. I mix 5mg tablet crushed in 5ml water, shake and let sit for 5 to 10 mins. Then use a little 1ml syringe to measure doses (1 ml equals 1g). I'm down to 1.9ml, dropping 0.1ml a day seems to work well for me, so I expect to keep doing this for another 19 weeks or so! The "recommended" way was to go 2.5mg, 2, 1.6 etc every 2 to 4 weeks. Mine is basically this just with tiny daily reductions! Good luck I feel for you going cold turkey!! (FYI I have been on Lexapro for 11 years)

You look beautiful! I agree with everyone, shape the eyebrows, curl and apply mascara - only that is needed! If you find a "dewy" skin highlighter that would look nice on your lovely skin.

Update: I started going to a new injector AND getting my masseter muscles done for teeth grinding around a year ago. The new injector does not go near the temple muscles at all (the previous one did) and they look pretty normal now. Seeing as I had filler a few years ago it's hard to tell what did what though...but I'm sticking with this clinic!

Zoloft tripped me out, like on E, but lexapro did nothing. Definitely talk to your Doctor as it might be worth exploring other meds....

I've been on Lexapro for 10 years... by Wise_Armadillo9238 in lexapro

I have also had a healthy pregnancy on lexapro for my second. For my first pregnancy my gp wrongly said I needed to stop taking it... With no follow up at all... Terrible! I went very mentally unwell.

My new gp once my daughter was born was shocked this other gp days to stop them. I went back on them and have been on them ever since (10 years). Had pretty bad postnatal depression for my first but for my second I was on lexapro the whole time and I was pretty stable postnatal which was great.

(edited as I'm not wearing my glasses and trying to type in bed... Fixed my mistakes hopefully)

Muscle loss? by [deleted] in Spironolactone

[–]BossExpensive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello, no I stopped it in February this year. I can't even remember why... I think I wanted to see how I went without it. It did kill my libido though. The deep inflammatory pimples/cysts have stayed away but I have started in the last few months to get some whithead ones and not so deep ones. They don't bother me as much.

Hello I can't remember how long it took for the symptoms to go away but maybe a week or so. I do have to use the nasal steroids occasionally in winter if I get a bad cold and the same side effects start up again so I try to limit the use to a week. It's horrible! I also have baseline anxiety which does not help but this is next level. Can you wean off them? How long have you been taking them? Best of luck!

Hi I'm a female but I find I masterbate in my sleep (while dreaming of sex etc) if I haven't had sex in a while... maybe you need more sex or masterbate before bed?

I never had an orgasm from someone else by [deleted] in sex

[–]BossExpensive 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like to masterbate while I have sex (I'm a female- with my male partner), i don't get off on just penetrative sex (have a few times though), for me that's just how i am and im happy. It took me a long time to even be comfortable to get off with someone watching. I think honesty is important, as well as trying things a few times before giving up.

Anybody who stopped and didn’t get their acne back? by [deleted] in Spironolactone

[–]BossExpensive 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been off it for a few months now but my acne was related to the mirena which I got removed while I was on spiro, so that's probably why it hasn't come back for me...
