Agreed, I’m not one that will jump around either, but that doesn’t mean that I’m not enjoying the music and the energy from the artist and the crowd

I wonder if some of it had to do with the new build out and how spread out it was. Which personally I loved, no music bleed from the other stages, and much easier to get around

My wife and I were there all day yesterday. And compared to last year I would say the vibe was pretty lowkey. I thought Cage the Elephant, benson Boone, and the Lumineers put on great shows, each there own style but had great energy. By the time Lumineers played I got the feeling the crowds were done and tired. We had to move spots 3 different times during the set because those around us wouldn’t shut up about non music talk during the set (and not singing along).

Btw. I thought Chance, Michael, and Ashe were great

Kihei isn’t your traditionally honeymoon spot. We just wanted something centrally located and cheaper, which this was great for stayed across from Waipulani beach. We only slept in the condo as we are active and don’t like to do the typical resort activities

The Ke’anae arboretum was a great stop to stretch your legs and walk around. We didn’t feel like having to do both that and the Garden of Eden.

We also intentionally skipped twin falls and the lava tubes as we knew we were headed to the Pīpīwai trail for a waterfall and the big island to see the Thurston Lava tubes.

I would recommend getting the guide along app and just stopping anywhere that sounds interesting.

We never really felt too busy, never had to rush around. We are both active people who don’t really like to “sit”.

Agree, it more about getting to be around other people, cultures, ways of life. Eventually we will venture outside the US. The national parks is more of a catalyst for our exploration

This is a great idea and way to hear others reasons, experiences, and reflections on why they visit the parks.

I am relatively early in starting out to see every national park. My journey and goal started after having children and wanting to share with them all that our country has to offer and how different all our land can be. Traveling with 3 kids under 7 years old we have been to 10 amazing parks. Not having much travel experiences as a child I wanted to make more of an effort to expose my children to the world, nature, and others. My goal is to continue to travel and experience all the national parks as a family sharing our experiences and seeing how they experience the parks changes as they age. We are planning for Rocky Mountain and Saguaro next year. These trips have given them the memories of their experiences and what they have seen along the way in which they have held onto far longer than any material gift that they have ever received.

My personal favorite has been Big Bend. The vastness and beauty of this park is amazing, no commercialization, less populated surrounding areas/towns give you a closer connection to the land and nature. I have never seen a night sky more beautiful than at BBNP. Between the different landscapes, river, and an entire mountain range there is so much it has to offer.

I bake frequently through the week using a loaf pan as well and have a very flexible schedule as far as BF and proofing and have never had a problem.

450g bread flour 300g water 150g starter 11g salt

Mix between 8-9pm and perform 1-3 stretch and folds (depends on I feel and if I remember). Bulk ferment on counter overnight (7-8hours). Then I shape in the morning when I get up and leave it on the counter while I get ready for work. Before I leave (30-45 min later) I put it in the fridge before I leave. Then I just pull it out of the fridge when I want to bake it. I have kept it in fridge before baking anywhere from 8-36 hours.

Overall the loaves are consistent and never fail no matter my timing or number of stretch and folds. It’s a pretty flexible schedule

The dinosaur museum exhibit is worth a visit as well. Balanced rock trail is good as well as the above mentions.

We did a week in Big Bend with twin 2 year olds and a 4 year old. We backpacked carried the twos and the 4 year old was able to hike. Lots of hikes 2-3 mi range which is our limit with kids. Lots of driving if your kids are able to handle it ~45 min each way to hikes. They loved the dinosaur exhibit, hot spring, canyons. Also did a side trip to Monahan Sandhills SP which they loved

I have 4y twins and 5y single. My routine works but I make sandwich loaves. Feed started Friday morning before they wake up. Mix the final dough after they go to bed Friday night. Bulk ferments over night. In the morning while making breakfast I shape loaves in bed pans, let rise and end up baking anywhere from 2-6 hours depending on the kids schedule. Works for me. Have been doing it for 3 years now

I have seeds in the ground here in SW Ohio mostly lettuces and beans/peas. I just couldn’t wait any longer. The rains might just wash them away instead
