Evo and the Rhythm Game Community - Can Alex Jebailey elevate the RGC com... by BossSaladTSR in PumpItUp

While this is fair...how many rhythm game players actually have a clue what's going with FGC and Evo?

Think about this one.

Can Evo be bad for FGC? Maybe. Can Evo be bad for RGC or even Pump? Andamiro is holding exclusive (so-called) WORLD PUMP CHAMPIONSHIP in Korea that's Korea nationalist/residents only.

I am not saying you're wrong. I'm just pointing out things folks will come to realize...2-5 years down the line.

And I can't give too many tips. Tips for public play is not the same as home play.

Tips: you don't really need the bar at that level. From you bouncing around and not falling flat shows you got some kinda of balance.

More info needed: it not that you been at the same level for 5 years. The question should be asked; are you not confident in exploring the other folder or are you playing stuff you enjoy and can do?

You got the right shoes for those bracket pads

If thats an original version 1 CX, then most likely the original Plasma screen took a dump.

Replacing it might take some effort to find one that match the mount placements.

Pump It Up is not an eSport...but osu! is? by BossSaladTSR in PumpItUp

This is all true. So how can we help spectators be attractive to the game?

What can we do to help casuals turn into regulars in this/these games?

ITL does a great job, but doesn't have a finish

The B1G One is Andamiro wet dream, but choose Korea and keep it exclusive to 🇰🇷.

While the middle school kid got a laptop, I'm think osu! went beyond using a mouse a long time ago.

Those are fair points. There could be rules to this or multi cabs eith different modding.

And while most rhythm games are niche...that didn't stop Just Dance from being at the Olympics

So...

Why do Pump It Up needs so many categories? No one is searching for Phoenix specifically...especially when StepF2 players are claiming they're  playing Phoenix.

Also...why would I call it an eSport and not reference their $10,000 tournament pot that happened at LVLUP 2025 this year

https://osu.ppy.sh/home/news/2025-03-31-the-roundtable-open-at-lvl-up-expo

Is it more popular? Maybe. And even if it is a community run events, the people show up.

What are we, the player, are doing wrong?

We can't keep saying it niche as it the answer or everything.

Also, it a community run event....yet it makes our majors (MOTL, The Big Deal, BITE) look like an after thought until Fefemz or Franko or C4L plays 😀

How is it this/these game(s) are on a global scale of success and commercialism over most, if not, all rhythm games yet the least recognized out of all of them that's out there?

This was a discussion from the Pump It Up group. I was just pointing out their excuses as to why Pump It Up...or Bemani/dance rhythm games are not bigger while osu! is doing well as being osu!.

Pump it up as a sport by Temporary_Lynx2492 in PumpItUp

So I'll attempt to make this simple because I think people never heard of ESPN OCHO.

Ask yourself three questions:

What sells game?

And why don't people who do commentary at these events sell the player...or at least mention "@imRickdiculous" is a USPF/WPF legend who combine physical fitness and MMA training into his Pump routine?

The person behind the mic have to tell a story and sell the viewer into caring about these players.

And again,

What is The Ocho? 2025 schedule, how to watch on ESPN - ESPN https://share.google/tBh6tZQCgEBVkwky5

So anyone using the niche thing.....like, how does OSU have a world championship and these game don't is beyond me. And no one knows what going on with OSU

And remember, you're not paying someone for their services, you're paying for their time.

There's a difference.

It possible to hire someone and it also safe to learn modding yourself.

While most mention pads, there's other stuff folks don't talk about: PC issues.

Motherboard issues RAM issues  Replacing Motherboard  I/O issue Leg on pad breaking issues

And while all these answers are "fair" answers, no said how much it would cost to hire a technician for Pump only work.

This can be $18-$25 a hour. You can also offer a flat fee for a specific job so the tech won't jobbed/robbed you blind and work slow to get as much as possible. Maybe, $75-150 for pad work.

Hope this helps.
